Shall we have a guess at what time the OS will crash on Friday. I'm going for 09:15.

Genuine question, do the club value members more than they do ST holders? I’m guessing there’s more likelihood of a greater match day spend from those not guaranteed a ticket every week, hence they may be of more value to the club? Or am I way off?

I'd say so yes.
I'm wondering if there will be a time when season tickets don't exist anymore.
I pay my money every year, go to pretty much every Cup home game but don't spend anything else on a matchday apart from the very occasional pint inside the ground.
To fit the profile I'd need to go in the club shop or buy the programme etc. (Which I can't do as my loft is already creaking with the weight of the bloody things)

It’d be interesting to know what the spending figures are for members attending matches. I’ve been one for a few years now purely because of the opportunity to buy tickets before general sale as ST’s aren’t available. I might buy the occasional pint and a bit of food but I’m not really filling the clubs coffers apart from the admission price, I’d say this is true for a large percentage of members.
Tourist fans aren’t going to be members, they’re more likely GA + or picking up resale or general sale tickets.

A tourist from Kuala Lumpar, probably. A family from Lichfield or a couple of lads from Dublin, not so much.

Depends how often they go. I'm as sure as I can be that nearly every club would prefer a ground filled with people that do no more than 2 or 3 games a season over season ticket holders.

I'm a member and try and spend as little time in the ground as possible. I might buy a bottle of water once a season.

Love the Green Man in the sun on a Wembley day.

The cool kids drink in Kilburn pre-match, that's all I'm saying.
On a previous occasion attended a social club in Kilburn called Done Our Bit, not too far from the tube, it was prearranged for two coaches

I go there every Wembley visit since Leeds ...short stroll to the tube with loads of alternatives of venues , put grub on , and a DJ before and after. No hassle the locals go in the bar bit...Coaches are going again from South Brum

Generally people like a system that favours them and dislike one that doesn't. No system when we have the ticket demand we do now is going to be perfect.

I remember in 2000 it was ticket stubs with points for games. Something like ManU 1 point, Wimbledon 3 points. The internet was very different back then and people still found a way to swap and sell stubs.

I get your first point but would be the first to hold my hands up if I felt a system was in place which favoured someone more than me.

But my holiday this year happened to span the Cardiff and Bruges home games. I couldn't go to either. And now don't have a PSG ticket and won't get a Wembley ticket despite going to every other Champions League game and FA Cup game, our one league Cup game and two thirds of the league games. Others are clearly in the same boat.

Even GA+ season ticket holders who have not attended a FA Cup game are below members in the pecking order for tickets.

I remember the lady who sits behind me telling me to attend the cup games as she had read that you will need to attend those games to be eligible to get a ticket for the semi final / final.

Hopefully we all get tickets for the semi final although it will be interesting to see what the criteria will be for the final should we get there.

My guess is they want a balance between higher spend per ticket from members and the advance on cash flow they get from STH sales.

Voucher system was also fallible as it wasn't directly linked to how many games you went to but by how many programmes you bought. There were lots of people who bought an extra programme  'just in case" and vouchers were being sold to people to boost their missing vouchers

Definitely true Malcolm but it is now easy to see who has attended games on fan ID reference.

I'm a member, have been to almost every game for last few years, even forest this weekend when I expected to be away I managed to get tickets on Sat am when our plans changed. My lad always gets food but that is more money for Compass not necessarily Villa.

We now have a conundrum, because my lad couldn't go to Spurs. He's 17 and had to work that game, which he was already annoyed about, and now it will likely cost him a trip to Wembley. We physically cannot get season tickets. We've been on the list for years, but are no closer to the front. I've had season tickets for years, I've sold the fanzine for Dave as a kid, I've taken all 3 of my kids to matches etc. There is no system that will please all fans. For me it should have been more tiered around games attended over a period of time. I know some ST holders who hardly ever go but buy theirs just for this sort of thing, which feels wrong on the other side.
There is zero chance of getting final tickets for us, so will do all we can to make the semi final, but I have every sympathy with the club for trying to give people a chance.

The website won't work though.

I wonder would non-season ticket holders have attended the FA cup games if they would have been charged normal everyday match prices?
