The saddest thing in all of this is that I actually believe that ST holders walking away is something the club would actually prefer than them stubbornly holding on. Every vacated ST seat is a GA+ opportunity, with all the income that a tourist brings.

It’s a strange stance for the club to go with, winding up STH’s.

I don’t think the appetite for members who have been to all 3 home FAC games, to go away to Preston on a Sunday lunch time (mothers day as well) is quite as high as you might think, the pricing of the tickets made it a good option for families to go, if they can’t afford League or European Cup games.

I suppose we will find out soon enough, I’ve been to 3 of the 4 domestic cup games, but I wouldn’t have turned my nose up at a ticket (I missed West Ham). Having been a STH for 20+ years in a previous life, but not in the last 15, I have massive sympathy for the existing STH’s.

If we do have a semi final to look forward to, there should be enough to go round for all STH’s and members who’ve been to 10+ games, but who knows with the decision makers at the club atm.

I don't think it's strange at all in the context of the attitude of the club since we've made the Champions League.

The idea that existing season ticket holders are in effect blocking potential revenue streams and are under leveraged has been ringing out for some time now.

This move is fully in keeping with that, strip way any benefits the season ticket holder has and make them pay for them.

I can remember when all shareholders got Wembley tickets at the three league cup finals in the 70s.

Yes I remember that. Shareholders prioritised over Program voucher holders!  But the share sales did save the club from going out of business.
