Priority access is not unequivocal though. It is woolly in legal terms and could easily mean to give priority over those that have attended the same number of cup games which they are fulfilling.

If they set the precedent which i think they now have done then:

it incentivises season ticket holders to buy cup tickets
it incentivises members to purchase cup tickets
it incentivises non members to become members

They dont need to incentivise supporters to become season ticket holders because its already sold out and there is a waiting list.

This is why i dont think they will resile from this position now the precedent is set.

Then they're going to screw over a lot of Villa fans who have already been bit by their CL pricing, and prioritised paying that over an FA cup game or two.

I know a lot of Villa fans who stand to be screwed over by this.

Let's see how the reaction goes.

Tell them to get a complaint in, the more the merrier. There is no possible justification for treating three games as greater priority than (at least) nineteen.

Is there a complaint email you have? Or know where to find?

edit: I will complain, but nothing this club can do surprises me anymore - they couldn't give a shit about loyalty. We're ran by the worst of american shithousery.

I haven’t read all of the thread so maybe this point has been made, or maybe I’m missing the point, but in the 2020 league cup  final, attendance at the other ties in that cup run were definitely taken into account, so not a new thing.

A quick catchup. The issue being raised here is that STH with away / cup games gets first pick of PNE away, then MEMBERS with 3 home cups, then STH. So the priority order not going through all STH first rather then attendance at ties is the point. For PNE, they should all go to STH with three home cups, but if they open that same order for any potential Wembley appearances, STH would miss out.
Thank you, thats totally wrong and Ill be mightily pissed off if I miss out tomorrow never mind wembley if we get there.

It also incentivises season tickets holders to buy tickets for games they can’t get to.

That’s what I would have done with the West Ham game if I’d know how it was going, & I’m guessing anyone else in my position would, & will in future. The club still get the money in the bank but the atmosphere they want to create would be watered down. Next year members don’t get any extra reward for their patience, we just get a lot of empty seats for our FA cup games.

Also - the very long ‘precedent’ of understanding of what priority access for ST holders means, leaves that statement as not that woolly at all.

I have contacted the Football Supporters Association regarding this because they have a legal section.

Will do mate. I suspect a lot of fans affected by this won't even realise until it's too late sadly.

This is what they said to me in regards to the benefits.

'Regarding season ticket holder benefits, those who attended all three FA Cup matches are prioritised over members with the same booking history. They qualify in an earlier window, giving them a greater opportunity to secure a ticket for the Preston match'.

I’ve sent an email in, as has my lad.
He’s 25 and has been a season ticket holder for 18 years. He’s got 1 FA Cup game due to work and if we were to get to Wembley and they pulled this stunt again we’d both be out for good. He went to every game in the championship home and away and this is how you repay fans like him.
I know they don’t care and it would kill us not going but that would be it.

They are sharpening up their wording as they go along then. Interesting.
(Or to put it another way - making it up as they go along)
My booking history is 19 games + 2 FA Cup games - how many of those they’ve put ahead of me can beat that?

Doesn't even need to be for good - just become a member and attend the cheap cup games...

A truly bizarre bit of shithousery from that american scumbag.

I think what’s annoying me most is that this is our best season in forever, & I feel like they are doing everything possible to suck all of the joy out of it!

Other clubs work by a points system that accumulates points gained over the whole season for all matches attended for Wembley tickets.

I could maybe stomach something like that. Prioritising 3 £25 games is bizarre.

I can remember when all shareholders got Wembley tickets at the three league cup finals in the 70s.
