Friday seems unlikely due to internationals earlier that week. I'm going for 12.30/5.30 on the Sat and 2.00/4.30 on the Sun.

Talk of the game being on the Sunday, Blackpool host Bolton on the Sat at 3pm so that may influence any Police guidance.

So that would mean Brighton away being put back to the Wednesday?

I just hope Hookeysmith hasn't planned a night out on the Wednesday.

This discussion is going in a very dangerous direction.

We have to play Preston and they will be massively up for it.
I suspect they may think WE are the most beatable team left in the competition, at home.

We need to be respectful and not count any chickens.

I think people are understandably happy atm that Yanited and Newcastle were knocked out yesterday, and that we've drawn the weakest team on paper. As the game itself approaches, it'll be be more of a nervous 'just don't fuck it up, Villa' vibe on here.

All this talk of Prestons proud history. Just google William Sudell, they were the Man City of their day.
Probably did us out of another double. Should be punished retrospectively and thrown out of this years Cup so we get a bye to the semi.

Quote
On this day … 6 April 1895
The Preston Guardian reported that Major William Sudell, founder of Preston North End, had been jailed for three years for embezzling thousands of pounds from the cotton mill where he was manager. The court accepted that he did not benefit personally, but used the money, £5,326 in total, to pay players’ wages and other expenses. On his release, he emigrated to South Africa, where he worked as a sports journalist until his death in 1911.

Blackpool is not exactly next door to Preston

Blackpool v Bolton won’t require a lot of police as it isn’t a derby, & with Blackpool at home, there isn’t an issue of rival fans crossing paths. Neither Blackpool or Preston have an issue with Bolton, only with each other.

It's not, but it is "their derby" after probably Blackburn. A bit similar to Brighton and Palace being a derby. I'm guessing Lancashire Police must be shit if they can't police both games though. One will be finished before the other one as well depending on 12:30 or 17:30 times.

Preston hate Blackpool & Burnley, & Blackburn a bit. Blackpool is massive across all ages, with Blackburn & Burnley having a bit of an age split with older fans having a bigger rivalry with Blackburn & younger fans more with Burnley (so Burnley is the more edgy fixture of the two)
There is a vague rivalry with other north west non prem type teams but no big deal.
For Bolton the big one is Wigan. There might be a bit of something with PNE, but Blackpool is too far from Bolton with too many teams in between for there to be any sense of a derby in that game.
Bolton v Blackpool won't require anywhere near as many police as the worst of our excitable one off day trippers!

That needs some kid of flow chart.
