I think Oldham had a striker called Ian Marshall who scored against us?

Ian Marshall, wasn't it? Curly haired fella from what I remember.

Just had a look, in 89-90 they beat us and Everton at home in their fa cup run and they got to the league cup final, beating Leeds, Southampton (decent team then), Arsenal all at home and thrashing West Ham in the SF 1st leg 6-0 at home. So we weren’t alone that season.

When legends Andy Ritchie and Rick Holden were to be feared.

Did they have the tall coloured striker as well, was it Palmer, possibly Roger, At that time as well?

My first ever away match was the last time we played Preston in the Cup. At that time you could sing 'Seven times we've won it, no one else can catch us up'.

We won 1-0 with a goal from Dave Roberts, but went out in the next round losing 1-0 at Liverpool. So began my own year after year disappointment.

Now, this is our time.

Great draw for us.  I hereby temporarily suspend any "magic of the cup."  We gave at the office - Stevenage.

The plastic pitches back then were really shit and gave the home side a massive advantage. We were usually shit at QPR and Luton as well. Preston also had one but we didn't play them when they had it.

Take no chances, do not take them for granted.  But, couldn't have wished for a better draw, other than this being a home tie.

Brilliant day of football. Geordies and Manc scumbags out, and the draw gets pulled out massively in our favour for once.

Can't take anything for granted, but this HAS to be the year, surely?! UTV

Its probably going to be an away game as we have been home every round so far

Makes no difference, the likelihood I mean.

When we made the final in 2015 all our matches were home ties Blackpool, Bournemouth, Leicester, West Brom on way to the semis and final which were both at Wembley

I’m seeing the same again.

Inshite.

I’m frankly disgusted with the draw.

The way the balls fell out of the bag and the half-arsed way they were mixed shows once again we should not trust the FA.
