This is shaping up just like 1992 with all the top teams going out early and we had a great chance to win it.  Only to lose to the only decent team left (Liverpool) in the QF who then went on to lift the trophy beating two teams from the 2nd tier.

Liverpool weren't any great shakes then, if I recall. Villa just the usual not turn up for the big occasion. We wore that ghastly Brazil kit as well.

Probably the most painful defeat in my time supporting the Villa. Have hated the yellow kits ever since (although it was shit to begin with).

Not sure about most, but it's definitely up there.  Pete is right, Liverpool were no great shakes and we had a really exciting team developing.....just didn't show up.  Like the Final in 2000.

The 2000 final was devastating.  Chelski were no great shakes in that game but we  just seemed to get stage fright, so to lose 1-0 was galling

The fact that I watched with my four (Irish) Liverpool supporting flatmates didn't help. Then add in the fact that we had as good a team as Liverpool at the time, and their semi-final and final opponents were in the Second Division. That for me was the one that got away, and it would have been great to win it with BFR.

The draw for the Emirates FA Cup quarter-final will be made on Sunday 2 March 2025, following the fifth-round tie between Manchester United and Fulham.

Former United defender Denis Irwin and Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy will be making the draw, which will take place shortly after the final whistle at Old Trafford with that tie kicking-off at 4.30pm GMT.

Ball numbers....

1. Preston North End
2. Aston Villa
3. Crystal Palace
4. Manchester United or Fulham
5. Brighton & Hove Albion
6. AFC Bournemouth
7. Manchester City
8. Nottingham Forest or Ipswich Town

I'd be very happy with that, and ecstatic if Newcastle and Citeh got drawn together.

On no! Back to the cursed ball number 2.

That was my first thought as well until I realised that every ball is cursed and has been for the last 67 years.

We will beat any of those at home, it's an away tie that worries me unless it's the Preston/Burnley one.

What will happen is the red filth will get a spawny win against Fulham then we'll be drawn against them away. Man U away, that'll make a change won't it?
