Percy reporting that we requested to move the Liverpool to later in the season, but the Premier League refused.
Yes, I was struggling to see why we would want to play the match earlier than the original date, especially with all the injuries at the moment.

Shame the Prem dont want to help english teams in the chumps league , like the european teams .

I don't for one minute expect that the FA (aka/Greedy6 lickspittles) have bothered to provide an explanation/justification?

I reckon they just have domain filter on their email that dumps any mails not from '.. @Arsenal/Liverpool/ManUtd/ManCity.com' into a' refused' box.

Well he just posted above that he can't do Fridays without notice, you think they'd meet him halfway.

By my reckoning there's three free midweek slots other than next week over the course of the season if we (or far less likely Liverpool) get to the CL final, w/c 21 April, w/c 11 May and w/c 18 May.

Given we'll have rearranged fixtures for the FA Cup semi and final, I'm OK with this game happening now.

Liverpool are looking a little shaky, we're getting players back now (Mings and Watkins fit for today), I say we make them regret their decision and fecking hammer them on Wednesday.

Also, Cardiff on the Friday night is the best we can hope for - Longest possible rest time prior to the Champs League away game, which is looking like Dortmund or Brugge (again!) at the moment.

After our glorious victory over West Ham, I should be going to this game.

Hope we turn up in the 1st half for this one.

Cardiff have taken up their full allocation... can't see then bringing 6/7k on a Friday night & live TV

This is their cup final. I reckon they’ll sell that easily.

well the club are selling tickets in 2 stages which usually means there has been big demand for tickets . As Villa are a big club and a quarter final at stake fans who don't normally go away will travel this time . speaking to a few at the ground Saturday lots of booked digs already for the Friday night in and around Birmingham

Last time we played up at Villa park in the prem there was a big demand prob could have sold our allocation a couple of times over back then

what ever happens any chance you could play your third team  :)

I think we are likely to see a rotated team but how much it weakens us (or not!) remains to be seen

To be honest mate, I'll be fuming if we don't go strong for this match. It's our most realistic opportunity of any trophy this season and a good draw for us.

Playing midweek yet again both this week and next will definitely have an impact on the team selected though. Just hope that some of our injuries have cleared up by then and that we don't get anymore.... which seem to happen every match without fail at the moment.

Had a player go off injured on some like 8 of our last 11 games, which is bonkers.
