Sometimes you have to kill your darlings. For the pace he can bring, that inside running line too that bulks the midfield, especially with Bailey off form, I'd start him.

No way would i drop Digne , player of the season so far for me

Im just thinking digne would be useful for CL. We really need to beat juventus midweek. I do agree with you tim digne been excellent its more resting than dropping for me

I think maatsen could do the job tomorrow

We really need to beat Palace tomorrow.

I fully expect Digne to start with Maatsen coming on with 20 minutes to go.

Yeah i would imagine thats how it goes Chris.

Three of our Cm injured. Whether you loved or didnt like him thats one of the qualities i liked about luiz he rarely got injured.  Onana and JJ are injury prone players

that's how i see it, Digne goes off on 65 mins to a standing ovation after assisting the third goal .

No excuses for this one. We have injuries, yes, but so do they. They are a poor outfit in the bottom 3 and we have to beat them.

2-1 Villa.

Guehi is a good player , their defence generally doesn't concede that many for a bottom 3 side (2 less than us all season so far)

Could be worse then, at least we can cobble a midfield together.

Emi
Cash
DC
Torres
Digne
Barkley
Tielemans
McGinn
Bailey
Rogers
Watkins
I'd start Maatsen in place of Bailey. Play Maatsen ahead of Digne and have the attacking pace down our left side. Bailey might be a used sub if things are going well.

What about playing Digne & Maatsen with Bailey on the bench?

I expect us to win and a rarity this season pretty convincingly.

2-0 or something like that.

It's silly to declare in November the next one up is a must win but I do fear we'll start losing ground if we just play out an unconvincing draw. Chelsea will certainly beat us if we can't dominate against understrength Palace.

Yes we have injuries but Eze to Palace is what Grealish was to us so that's a huge amount of creativity to lose and Adam Wharton unlikely to play either so they'll just pack their team full of CBs and DMs and try to hold on to a 0-0.

I do wonder though whether we might give Mings a start. Pau been away, we have Juve and Chelsea imminent and I just think bring Mings back to keep Mateta under wraps is the ideal way to get his prem minutes up, Pau really struggled v him last season and he's Palace main threat now.

Palace have a bit of a injury crisis worse than us. We really have no excuses tomorrow
