Improvement from last few games  but i just do not understand why for the life of me we only left bailey back at such a early stage of the game? We do that if you are going for a short corner too? Dont make much sense to me. Unai made a big mistake there

We didn't leave Bailey back he was on the edge of the box when we lost possession. He is always there for corners. The problem is that we normally leave 1 or 2 of the fullbacks deep but this time we let Konsa go into the box, Digne took the corner so we had everyone in the final 3rd and Liverpool have the quickest front line in the league and caught us out.

He was the furthest person back. This was a tactic used for diaby last season but he did this like towards the end of last season. Not sure why we are not leaving a defender back further at such a early stage of the game.

I don’t think Bailey was a disgrace for their goal.
I thought he covered well, was up with salah in a footrace and got into enough of a tangle with salah to take him out.
There was no one else backing him up and picking up the runner, and Martinez was in no man’s land.

Bailey did well I thought, diced with a red card though but dropped Salah anyway. Martinez went down far too early for the shot too. As Alan Hutton pointed out, Digne's starting position was the problem. But I don't like any tactic that just has two players back like that. Leave Konsa back, at least he can run.

The amount of chances we miss is ridiculous.

We seem to have decided we aren't going to score today.

Not playing badly but lack that cutting edge. I prefer Morgan deeper where he can make his runs. Where he is he can't seem to get going.

We've been the better team. I said to my Mrs, we need to watch them on the break from our corner & we didn't. It's not difficult to defend your own corner. Ultimately that will cost us the game.

The second goal will come by 50 mins.
