If the ball is in play and you pick it up in the penalty area guess what...it's a penalty everytime. With 2 CBs on a booking I'd have taken 1 of them off at half time. 25 mins to save ourselves,  not looking likely
the ball wasn't in play, though ...

Off course it was!

Second game in a row where Emery looks like a lost sheep

It feels like they're happy to stay on 9 points

Playing for the cash bonanza of the extra round, IMO.
why would they do that when you make more money from directly qualifying?

Mings should hang his head in shame for that, still can’t quite believe he did that.

I imagine he'll be more pissed off about it than you.

It's at times like this that I'm grateful that I don't really like football.

Even now, with 15 mins to go, we are showing no intensity, no urgency

not when you look at the way short goal kicks are taken in the Premier League.

I hesitate to ask but - for those of us stuck on a train home from work - what DID he do?

Martinez took a quick goal kick to him. Mings didn't realise ball was in play, picked it up and rolled it back to Martinez. Referee gave penalty. One-nil to the Bruggers.

Ah.

Sub-optimal.
