We're one point worse off than last season.

We need to win the next two to be ahead at 11 games.

This and Ipswich were definitely two points dropped.
Yep, but sadly an additional 2 points we didn’t particularly deserve or earn on merit.

You win some, you lose some.

That's what today felt like.

But neither of those things happened today!
We lost 2 points though . Emery will turn on the hairdryer and we will go and batter Spurs now .

We played some great football today.
The disallowed goal is a bit of a disgrace - even the picture shown on the stadium screens did not decisively show the whole ball was out
When Chris Kavanagh gave his first yellow after 4 minutes, my heart sank. He set himself up to fail, and many of the 13 he waved were not worthy of such judgement. And, in other news, Villa should have been home and hosed by halftime. We weren't.

Once Watkins went off nothing was sticking up front . This is the downside of Duran. We also lost all physicality in midfield once Rogers and McGinn went off . After getting the goal finally we had to be more strategic and stifle the game to death .

Thought Rogers was poor and can't have any complaints about being hooked early.

Onana provides physicality but his limitations with the ball are becoming clear. Tielemans was blowing out his ar$e last 20 minutes and should have been hooked and Barkley left where he was next to Kamara. Emery got that one wrong.

Onana is good on the ball. Got caught once, but I've seen Kamara caught a number of times in the same position. In fact, Onana is excellent on the ball, what a weird take.

If you're in agreement with Mr 3.5/10 then you're probably up to your neck in a deep rooted crack problem, so a pint of anything but liquefied Angel Dust is unlikely to touch the sides.

I watched Onana spray a number of passes that cut through Bournemouth, as he's got an excellent range. I also saw him get booked with his first tackle and was worried his telescopic legs wouldn't survive the entire game with the referee. Emery seemed to think the same.

He was lucky not to be sent off for a studded challenge.

Unai knows his limitations and he was always likely to be pulled at half time.

Bonkers to suggest he’s good on the ball. Cheerfully bonkers!

He clearly is, with his ability to pick passes between the lines. I'm not sure what game you've watched or what Onana you've been watching all season.

Agreed with regards Onana’s limitations on the ball today apart from one superb pass which I’ll give him the benefit for as being intended.

I thought Onana was probably inhibited by the early yellow card and although he did some good things, he was also the one who was most susceptible to error today.

He's usually very good at timing a sliding tackle, but there's no way I'd trust it second half with the referee being as card happy as he was.

To be fair that’s how he always plays. I think Unai uses him for a combative first 45 before trying something more creative. Tielemans is adapting to playing with someone like that and generally bypassing him!

Not sure how fit he is as he hasn’t got past 45 minutes recently but I think Kamara will be first choice alongside Tielemans before long.

Onana has a better pass success rate than his contemporary Kamara did last season. He's 90% Premier League and 94% in the Champions League. He also passes the eye test. Both are good on the ball and very good defensive midfielders.

Both he and Boobie have better passing stats than Tielemans, which is to be expected given the outrageous threading through the eyes of needles Tielemans attempts most games, an absolute joy to watch.
