Some of the football we played was sumptuous and a joy to watch . I'm not sure what level Bologna would be at in the Prem - they seemed very calculated and dirty , classic Italian style antics on the pitch . Scoreline should have been heavier for sure but their keeper played well and we still fluffed some great chances
Funny, I didn't see them as a typical Italian side at all. They played very open, which meant the game ebbed and flowed, and - yes - the CB marking Duran was pretty uncompromising but there weren't many cynical fouls. In fact, we committed more than they did, even if they picked up 4-5 cards.
They weren't a bad footballing side but simply lacked a touch of quality to compete.
Yeah, I thought that if anything, they were too “nice” and not really aggressive enough, physically.
I saw plenty of cynical fouls from them , the ref was quite lenient with them

I thought they were mostly fine, tbh. Certainly no worse than we see every week in the Premier League. Then again, I have a soft spot for Bologna so maybe I'm just giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Excellent piece from Stan Collymore on talksport just. He spoke very well and was spot on in what he said. Worth a listen on 'listen again'.

We are going to really twat someone soon when all our approach work culminates in goals - bit like Brighton last year.

And Rogers before the season ends will score a goal to match Dalian's at Wimbledon - one day it will just click on a mazy run and end with a goal.

I agree that they were tough but not unduly cynical.

Great to be in a position where the manager can use his squad without any drop off in quality.

Just seen someone on the Guardian comments saying Gerrard was our Liz Truss.

Biased also but strikes me as weird to say they were particularly cynical compared to what you see every week in the Premier League. Also, maybe a team which literally has Emi Martinez is in no position to lecture anyone.

Maybe. How liony are we really, though? Not sure it's a bit over-done.

We've used the rampant lion for around 145 of our 150 years, so we're pretty liony,

A wise old Hammer at work has just come up to my desk and said: "No wonder you lot won last night. The Bolognese boys heads were gone as soon as they went through Spaghetti Junction."

Did think that one of our residents would have the pun covered but still, for an in real life quip, I doffed the hat.

Though in Bologna of course, it is tagliatelle and not spaghetti that accompanies the bolognese (ragu).
