Not really what I expected, probably another genius Unai tactical tweak (plus Ollie, Ramsey, Digne rested). Good to see Maatsen start but I thought Philogene might given his red card.

Shouldn't there be two keepers on the bench?

They've missed Gauci. Should be 13 subs.

I think Emery is competing with himself doe the strongest bench he can field.

Much weaker squad. Olsen is back.  Cue ‘Bailey doesn’t look fit to me’ after about half an hour.

I would have preferred Philogene on the left and McGinn on the right.
Not sure picking Bailey is the right decision but let’s hope he plays like we know he can do.

This will be a good match up, we have ridiculous quality to bring on if needed, Villa Park looking majestic

Nice that we're in a position where we can rest players and still field a really strong side. Best to take advantage of that before the injuries pile up again.

Bailey has been poor this season. I am sure he knows it’s
For your manager to have faith in you and play you in a crucial, big game, is the boost the guy needs.

Watch Bailey have a blinder

I would have preferred Philogene on the left and McGinn on the right.

Their biggest threat will be down our left side. I'm more surprised Digne's defensive skills haven't been requested tonight. McGinn will give Maatsen licence to attack and defensive support when he needs it.

Like posters have posted Bailey starting really suprised , he was absolute rubbish saturday as we all know and with Jaden banned for Bournemth I ws expecting him to start .

Maatsen isnt a suprise but JJ not getting a start , I thought he was really getting into form but 5 can come on I suppose.

Big game for the wild boy JD and the bench is wow .

Im quietly confident boys and great to see Tyrone on the bench .

Tyrone Mings as I live and breathe! Would be amazing to see him get a five minute run out if circumstances allow.
