One thing in our favour this winter is our Champions League position, we aren't too far away from the latter stages. There must be some decent players out there we could get on loan who fancy a crack at winning it.

Given that there is a pretty good chance Man City are going to be knocked out, I think it probably would be worth bringing you know who in on loan if we could. We might never get another chance at this.

'You know who'? Nah, Haaland won't come.

Rodri on loan til the end of the season might work though...

I watched grealish on weekend and he looked a shadow of a player he was with us. Peps coached all the goid things he use to be good at. He has ruined grealish and Phillips

If its a loan i may consider it because i think within a few weeks he would be back to the grealish we know. But he wont be as loved as he once was thats for sure

You might have an outside chance of Garnacho on a loan to buy if they really want to get rid of him.... But about 5%. He'll probably just go to Chelsea with every other wide forward in the world.

Its ridiculous there is no rule about how many players a club can own.  Chelsea can carry on signing stupid volumes of players and no repercussions

Its lucky for them they will get CL this year. I think they could have been in trouble had they missed out this year.

Id love madueke personally

He didn't ruin Phillips at all, Phillips was never the player he was made out to be but worked at Leeds because they built their team around him.

Imagine in that summer convenience deal we'd have somehow got Madueke and Chalobah instead of Maatsen. Might have been much better fits and Chelsea were actively trying to offload Madueke at that point. Doubt we'd have a chance now.

Im sure neutrals would say same about grealish then on that basis.

I mentioned chalobah in summer. A loan cant see why why we wouldnt ahve been interested. He really would add something

Maatsen is a good player but has he really added much more than moreno did?

I think we needed a right sided player more than a left one so i agree with you ozzjim

The signing of Maatsen seems more odd by the week to me. It was big money on a left back who doesn't start most games, when we already had Moreno as back up.  It wouldn't be such a weird signing if we were under the FFP cosh, but seemingly we were / are.

Only thing i can think of was sign him hope he does well then sell in couple years for double the amount. More resale value than moreno.

Dignes been really impressive this year unfortunately for maatsen because i am sure he was the planned automatic 1st choice left back in the clubs mind when he signed. But that 30m was probably  better best served getting a right back.

Chelsea paid us a wad for Kellyman. We bought Maatsen, who would have played more had Digne not upped his game significantly. Maatsen is young and will be the future.

But it was clearly in part to help get us out from under that PSR cosh. We helped Chelsea out, they helped us out.

He was already struggling with injuries when they sold him, a severe problem with his shoulder was one of the issues,
