I have a vague hope were going to pull something out of the bag and not in a Simon Dawkins way.

I struggle to see how Uni can sort out not having adequate cover at CH. We saw how we coped against a shit Wolves team. They tore us to shreds in the first half with Kamra at CH. Th whole defence was a shambles and the midfield was well below par without Kamara doing his proper job.

We've fucked ourselves over. We needed a centre back since the summer to replace Lenglet. Then we really needed one from the end of December to replace Torres. Then we really, really needed on when Mings got injured. It hasn't come out of the blue. We've been a centre back light for 6 months.

Lenglet was replacing Mings, so we didn't really need to replace the replacement when the original was due back.

Yep weakens the midfield and the defence by playing Kamara there.

Quite apart from the injury risk we are finishing the window with Konsa, Mings if fit and Cash as our first choice starters again at the back.  And we wonder why we cannot compete on all fronts.

I know it's all big and clever to do a late deal - but a defender has been needed since Torres got crocked and then Carlos left.

Foyth from Villarreal would have been perfect.

We're a CB light because we sold one, prior to that I wasn't too fussed, but even more so with the current injuries.

We've also then strangely chosen to loan out the main centre-back who has come through the youth setup.

I imagine Unai will be fuming if this plays out - you could tell there was some frustration in his after match interview the other night

If I were a betting man that would be the one I reckon we might sneak in.

We’re not sneaking anyone in it sounds like - I find it odd that a few seem to think it’s all fairly sensible decision making. It’s also putting a hell of a lot of pressure on Mings.

We've conceded 9 more than Everton with the World's No1 goalkeeper. We haven't been great at the back since Christmas 2023 tbh. It's the one area I would have thrown £50M at.

unless Unai (or the others) think Kamara at CB and Bogarde in DM is the answer
