Back in the day I remember my mom saying that scarf won’t keep you warm tied round your wrist. She also used to say “Stop moaning and be grateful”.Great article.

Great read Dave.

I normally cringe at the thought of a half and half Scarf, but after I saw lots of other buying them, it made me think that I would like a momento of what would be an historic win (yes I had a feeling we would) and it was also my birthday, so the date being on also meant something to meI did hide it in my coat pocket for the game though and gave to my boy the next morning who was buzzing with it
I posted this on FB on Weds before the game. "A few years back.. I had two hobbies, in fact one was a love affair, following Aston Villa, and the other was fishing. Most of what occurs in these sports revolves around a weekend due to me working Mon to Fri and the football and fishing fixturesIt was impossible to do both properly, due to time conflicts, financial and family ties.I chose fishing.Tonight I'll be watching the game with my son on the box, Sunday I'll be fishing a match and listening to it on the radio. I hope that everyone in there tonight and Sunday really appreciates what special times these are.Did I make the right decision in picking fishing over football... I think so.. Im still mates with my football pals. Am I jealous as f**k of everyone in there tonight? OH YESIf youre there tonight get behind em.. Give em a shout from meUP THE F**KIN VILLA"Looking back after Wednesday, what I saw on TV, the atmosphere, the noise, colour, passion, the will to win the ball, bodies on the line, I've never enjoyed a game on the box so much, I watched it with my boy, who's 14 and Villa daft, we had a beer or two together and had a real special time watching it together, even more so as he's lost his mother 4 weeks ago, so it was a proper special time watching one of our greatest nights, and his mood visibly lifted ( thats what football does ) I do wish we'd been there in person.Ive found if you take time away from actually going to the game, it becomes a habit, and something takes its place. and since giving up my season ticket in 2008, Ive probably been to 50 games, mostly when someones shifting a spare, but the love never leaves you, you see something like Wednesday night, or Man City last year, and you know, you just know that one day you'll be back there, next time itll be with the new wife and lad in tow, passing the baton onto him. Hes already done a few games with me as a toddler but hes really got the bug now. Short term its the Firestick and fishing rods ..long term .. who knows Sunday is 48 hours away, and I'm almost tempted to forget to set my alarm, but I have a feeling Ill still be on the river bank listening to us do United like I did for Emery's first game, I nearly fell in the river when we went 2-0 up that day, I was jumping around like Zeberdee on acid. as per the post title falling in love again... this week has summed it up perfectly
It's easy to get carried away with all the media hype at the moment especially when seeing videos like this... https://youtu.be/PBbFuXI0EmA ... but with it lays the seeds for destraction and the enevitable fall.Let players and fans alike walk that media hype tightrope in humility. Keep our sights laser focussed and our steps sure footed to avoid us falling into that pit of poisonous egos and abnoxious arrogance.
