What. A. Night. What. A. Club.

Special mentions for Carlos, Pau, Philogene. Martinez and of course Duran.

Carlos was superb.  I dont get this guy!! 😂

You just have a bad memory.

He plays unbelievable against the great sides ans shit against the crap teams.  If he was consistently goid like tonight he would be one of the best defenders in the league

We should just tell him we're playing Man City, Arsenal or Bayern Munich every week. "But boss, they're wearing Ipswich shirts." "No Diego, it's Man City, I swear down."
To be fair, we made Delap look like Haaland.

He seems to play well when we need to defend and play a counter-attack and not play possession football. If we need to do the latter, he can't then concentrate on defending.

Morgan Rogers on TV. A career in punditry beckons. After he’s won everything with us obviously.

He's got 15 years at Villa first. Then we get let him go to the Albion to help them back to the 2nd tier.

Wonderful, brilliant from nearly every player and another managerial masterclass before and during the game.

How can we concede 2 aqainst Ipswich and Everton and keep a clean sheet against Bayern? It's a funny old game.

We seem to match the opposition levels. We play well against the good teams and shite against the shite teams.

I’m not sure it’s that. I think against sides like this it’s fine to set up to defend and counter, but against the “lesser” sides we need to be front footed. It means we create more, but we’re more open. It’s why someone like Kamara is key, but we do need to find the defensive balance when we’re expected to dominate.

Not sure why you are trying to pick a argument tonight after such a unbelievable win.

Just enjoy the win man

I posted a negative prediction and I was wrong. Not that I was pessimistic about the season as a whole, but thought we’d get battered tonight.

Emery shows again that he does horses for courses, unlike Kompany. It was a magnificent performance, but a special shout out to Philogene. He did little going forward, but defensively he was incredible.

That’s why Emery picked him.
