A draw would be a ridiculously good result for us

No. We're at home. A draw isn't a ridiculouy good result against anyone with the exception of needing it to guarantee a trophy win or something similar.

We should be hopeful of beating anyone at home. That's our level now. We aren't Lambert era Villa. Time to change the mentality.

See.

Just enjoy the win man

Unbelievable night for us!!

Emi had his best game of the season so far.

Duran can score any type of goal. Nothing he can't do.

Great to see Jaden play so well. Looks far more comfortable on the left.

I think most apart from the out of sorts Bailey had the game of their life, just in different ways.

Superb.
Diego Carlos, take a bow. Imperious today. Probably the man of the match for me and a very special shoutout to Jaden who I thought played incredibly well. They've both been hammered here in the past week alone (and not without cause).

Unai made a huge call by playing Jaden but I think it may just be one of those turning point games for him. He looked like he belonged today and he looked like he believed it too. Well done.

Everyone bar Bailey did well. I'm not sure what is up with Leon at the moment. He didn't look sharp, didn't look fit. He's been way below his best all season. I felt when the boards went up he should have gone off but just wondered if Unai might refrain from subbing the sub who hadn't been on too long. But this is Unai. Everyone could see it wasn't happening for Bailey, even Bailey seemed to know. Do wonder if he's playing with an injury.

As for Duran. I mean it's just par for the course ain't it. He's the best there is at what he does.

Great night.

Through all the celebrations, just to say how shit was the ref. How the fuck did we end up with more yellows than them?

One of the greatest nights in our history

A special night, certainly, but for me the great nights are when we win trophies. I'm delighted especially for our younger fans who have never seen such occasions - may they witness many more to come in the days, weeks, months and years ahead.

All credit to Unai and the players, the tactics were spot on and we deservedly won.   UTV!!

Maatsen was a bit below par but yes, even Carlos played really well.

We'll be talking about tonight in 20 years time!  Nights like tonight can change the course of history for a club. Tonight we showed we belong. This is the sort of result that makes people sit up and take notice.  This is the result that makes the players and fans of other clubs suddenly wonder just what's happening at Villa Park.

We are a Champions League side.  And a bloody good one.

A quarter of the way through the league phase and we're ahead of Man City, Arsenal, Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern, both Milan clubs.  On Merit.
