I'd forgotten Danks was at Bayern now.

No idea to your question though.
That makes sense - I saw him during the warm up and thought - that guy looks like German version of Aaron Danks.

During the match there was a to do with Emery and Danks a former coach at Villa..what was that about? It was shown on TNT sports.
Emery was mimicking the talking/speaking gesture with his hand at Danks and the fourth official had to separate them.

Think they were moaning at the ref a lot and Emery wasn't having it

I do like the countdown to the next match in the banner though. Any chance of that happening on here?

I first went down to VP in 1962 and Wednesday's game is right up there in the great occasions under the floodlights. I was lucky enough to be there for the December 1970 League Cup semi final when third division Villa beat the erstwhile European champions Man Utd 2-1, when Ron Saunders' heroes smashed the Champions, Liverpool, 5-1 in 1976 and later when we beat Inter Milan and Tranmere on penalties.
However, Wednesday might just be the best ever...the historical significance marking our return from years of mediocrity , the whole world watching, the atmosphere, the incredible shift put in by all of the players and the signal it sends about what an incredible manager we have and the wonders he has already worked.

I only see the quote saying they're his dream team?

That’s the one, AV84! I was using ‘favourite’ as sarcasm, rather than as a direct quote, although I appreciate it wasn’t that clear!

I wonder if JD’s agent has told him to flirt outrageously with all of Villa’s opponents, or if something is being lost in translation. He is only 20.

Ditto. First game I remember was v Leyton Orient 1962. (1-0, Harry Burrows with a cross come shot from way out on the left wing!) I was also at all the games mentioned except the Tranmere one. Though I can remember the 1962 one, I can't remember why I watched the Tranmere game on t.v.

Probably the greatest game I've been to with everything that was connected to it for me.
I started going regularly in 1987 so have been lucky to witness some incredible things but with everything that it meant to me, Wednesday gets top spot.

I lost my mate to a brain tumour a few weeks ago and he sat next to me in the Doug Ellis upper for the last 10 years and I'm sure he was there in spirit. It would also have been his 60th birthday on the night which made the evening even more emotional for me. Such a shame that he had been on the journey which reached this destination and he wasn't around to witness it.

I know you were around amongst all the crackle of the spine tingling atmosphere that eminated from VP a few nights ago.

That was for you buddy.

I’m sure he was, Nunkin1965, along with my dad, Gary Shaw and all the HEITS.
So sorry that you have lost your good friend. UTV.

That's beautiful Nunkin. He's up there or out there somewhere with Shawsy, beaming with pride.

Great video, I bet Ashley Young wishes he was still a starter for the Villa!

Mate, so sorry to hear of your loss. It's nights like these that give us pause to mourn and celebrate special people from our lives. I'm sure he's bursting with pride as a HEITS, though maybe not so keen on Jimmy Hill presenting the highlights up in Heaven.

Take care.

Ashley Young spoke really well of the club, manager and players on BT Sport.

Still one of us, I reckon.
