Currently sat in a car park in Crewe waiting for AV82EC Jnr before putting ourselves in the hands of the M6. He’s had 20 years of mostly utter shite and him and his generation deserve every fucking minute of this. Up the Villa and FTF.

Random question. My lad is in Bristol does anyone have any suggestions for where to watch the game?

I'm by no means an expert, but I watched the Champions League final in 2012 in Green House at the bottom of College Green - which involved Bayern losing to an English side in the Champions League. So if he's a fan of omens... Pretty standard sports bar, nothing fancy.

I watched the Arsenal game this season in the Birkett Tap, which seemed fine. Loads of screens. Fewer positive omens to report though.

On the train from Leicester to Brum with a load of Bayern fans. Guess they may have flown in to East Midlands?

Stansted apparently. They quite rightly, are extremely unimpressed with British trains. Let’s hope their day doesn’t get any better.

When i was there - both german and Austrian train services were far superior to ours. We must be a bit of a laughing stock for that to them
Laughing rolling stock even.

He was training with the team yesterday so I'll be surprised if he doesn't play.

Ah well, it's not like they're a one man team anyway.

I'm forced to listen to the radio at work and on all the news/sport bulletins today they were really bigging up our game tonight. The others got a mention but they were really selling the 40 year wait for a home CL tie, and the relevance of our opponents. Made me a little giddy, I must say.

Can't wait for KO, if somebody had told me, after the Fulham debacle on 20 Oct 22, we would be playing Bayern Munich at VP in the CL in less than 2 years time, I would have told them to get an appointment urgently with a doctor, a massive thank to you Unai, for making the impossible happen.

I said that we would in the post-match thread but the mods moved it to What's wrong with you?

I’m amazed that Pau and Konsa are considered a strong pairing in central defence, despite the evidence.

Its certainly stronger than pau and carlos

Evidence?

You certainly can’t point to goals conceded. Even this season. Never mind last, when it was overwhelmingly in favour of Pau/Carlos.

I’d have thought the amount of goals conceded was quite an important metric for centre-back pairings. Seems not for a lot of people.

You need evidence? Have you not seen the disaster that is konsa at roght back and carlos at cb?

Well, as a matter of statistical fact, the Konsa/Carlos/Pau/Digne defence is the best one for keeping goals out, I’d like to see evidence to the contrary. We’re all bemoaning the lack of clean sheets - I think the last three were Tou g Boys away, Arsenal away and Wolves at home last season. Anyone want to guess who was playing centre-half and right-back for 2 and a half of this games?
