Proper Irish goal, that (if any Ireland supporters remember what a goal for looks like).

My Dad brought me up to take long-range shots and go in for rough slide tackles, and nothing else.

Was he disappointed when you ended up in goal? 🙂. Thinking about it, I can barely name any Irish goal keepers. It's felt like the only GKs Ireland have had in my years watching is just Shay Given and now this Kelleher lad.

Immensely, but I was only a 'keeper until I was 13 or 14. After that, at 5'10, I wasn't tall enough, so switched to RB.

I'm 5'10 and played RB, also.

The outward bend had a bit of Angel against Chelsea about it.

Name a better struck shot than Duran’s goal. Don’t say Savo, Jhon’s is better.

I was thinking about this; the arc of the shot reminded me of the JPA goal against Chelsea in the league cup quarter final in 03/04. Also a fabulous strike.

Just the sheet audacity and self belief to even try it. Utterly magnificent

No doubt he has plenty of both. We really do have something special on our hands.

To obtain the results we have while not playing as well as we can and coming from two down to win, says an awful amount about the team spirit and will to win of this team. Well done Villa.

Also the squad depth.  The players that come on are of a comparable standard and can address specific weaknesses that Emery has spotted.

Without sounding like Fergie at his patronising best Everton can take heart from this defeat unlike last week's capitulation.  I thought they played well and scored two good goals but they were done by method, aggression, effort and bravery. The better team won.

Yep if they get Branthwaite fit and keep DCL so then they have enough to stay up IMO.

9 years ago this weekend was the 3-2 defeat after being 2-0 up at Leicester. One of those clubs won the the league the other were relegated.  We couldn’t could we?

Nope but I think Leicester have a good chance of the drop

My tuppence worth on yesterday.

Fanzone was rammed. Club shop seemed very busy. Everton didn't sell out. I got served easily a beer in the Trinity upper tier.

A woman came up outside the game trying to pass some fake 50 notes as some sort of protest against CL ticket prices I assume. She had no takers in our vicinity - rueful chuckle.

Open play - we had 70% I thought we totally controlled the game.

Martinez - first goal should have done better
Humphrey - looked nervous at times but will only get better. Needs to improve positional play as was played DCL on side for gile edged chance.
Konsa - some important challenges. Good on the ball but DCL gave him hard time.
Torres - see Konsa. Better going forward shakey at time defending
Digne - thought he had a good game overall. Great cross for the goal.
McGinn - I thought he was tentative and really not himself. Not sure he was overcompensating for Bogarde
Tielemans - excellent throughout MOTM
Onana - got done for goal but was still bossing the match prior to removal.
Barkley did well overall - tidy enough, good support act for Youri
Ramsey - some nice touches and interplay with Rogers. Real plus having him back meaning Bailey's absence was less than it should be.
Rogers - great feet just needs to work on some of his decision making. Frightening how good he is and will be.
Watkins - took the 2 goals really well. Could/should have took one or two others. Looked sharper than v Arsenal.

Subs

Maatsen did well
Duran - what can I say. What a strike.
Jayden / Emi B- not on long enough but former did well running the ball out at the end.
