Our defending has been awful for far too long. What happened to being virtually unbeatable at Villa Park?

Since beating Wolves 2-0, we've conceded the following:

Brentford - 3
Lille - 1
Bournemouth - 1
Chelsea - 2
Olympiakos - 4
Liverpool - 3
Arsenal - 2
Everton - 2

18 goals in 8 games. Terrible.

Rogers has been disappointing for a few games now. Onana not having his best game either and the defence need to improve. Everton are eminently beatable.

Really?  From my view, Rogers had been fine today and Onana, slip aside, has been solid.

It hasn't been that bad.

Mate this is a injury savaged everton and i think only the goals tested the keeper. This is pretty bad.

Not defending well at all, taking far too many passes and not creating enough. If we want to sustain a challenge like last season we need to be winning these gamss. Spurs destroyed these lot, Bournemouth humiliated them.

Maybe when McNeil bundles Onana off the ball it's not a foul, but then he kicks Onana's right leg away - clear foul for me.

That performance is not embarrassing at all. Couple of individual errors certainly but we've had vast amounts of control and with some better decision making in the box could be well ahead. It's not like we're playing a non league team is it, so 'embarrassing' is a bit much

I was more focusing on just losing to everton 2-1 at home is embarrassing.  This everton teams bad very bad.

I just hope there is a vast improvement second half corey as if you want europe again you have to be winning these gamss

I thought Rogers started brightly with some good passing but decision making has fallen away as the half went on.

Martinez needed to do better with the first but equally Onana losing the ball under a bit of pressure and pretending to be injured irritated me.

If Everton are braver, our defence is there for the taking. If we hook Ramsey and get Duran on I think it could be more interesting.

Agreed. He’s been a magnificent servant for the club but this is the season I think we see him slowly phased out for younger options. He’ll still be an outstanding squad player.

Bruv it's half time, Liverpool lost at home to forest today. Sometimes these results happen, my main focus is the performance. Absolutely need to sharpen up defensively though
