Unless you want to be in a brilliant pub/square/fountain packed full of Villa you'd do as well staying in Ghent, half an hour from Bruges and the best drinking city in Europe.

No sign of any time anywhere I can find.

The athletic says

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/live-blogs/champions-league-draw-live-updates-format-time-fixtures/mz3me1z04Qqb/

“ The match calendar for the 2024-25 Champions League will be released on Saturday August 31.”

Mind you maybe not the most reliable source/ journalist (Luke Brown, Managing Editor, Global Live) as it also says

“Aston Villa, competing in the tournament for the first time since 1982-83, have also been drawn against Bundesliga champions Leverkusen in a repeat of the 1982 European Cup final, and will also play 2017 champions Juventus”

Ha, they probably enter a macro in their article for ${bundesliga_champions} and no one in their right mind would ever think that it would be replaced with anything other than Bayern :)

I'm holding off until they announce ticket details. I've got 4 aways so should be alright but I'm sure Heck will throw a spanner in those works at some point.

Pleased with the Leipzig game as that was the week I was looking at to spend in Berlin.

Seems to be the case that the Eurostar to Brussels also includes travel on local trains onward to Brugges.

Can’t wait

Thanks for this olaftab.

I think someone said the other day you can get a direct train to Bruges from Lille so don’t have to go as far as Brussels though you would need to transfer between stations in Lille.
Yes, Seb_AVFC Belgian based poster mentioned Lille to Brugge route but I have not found any direct trains. Mostly two connections. Transfer to Lille Flanders is not an issue though as it’s 5 minutes walk towards the centre on the same road as Euro station.

Yes, you will need to switch trains in Kortrijk. The travel time will be about the same. Trains from and to Brussels can get crowdy on week days, that's why I prefer the Lille option. Train from Brussels to Bruges is included in your Eurostar ticket, if you choose the Lille route it's 14 euro single fare.

I live 15 minutes away from Bruges, so if anyone got a question just shoot or drop me a DM.

Cheers Seb. The “Any Station” deal from Eurostar is good.

Best website for info on trains around Europe is The Man in Seat 61.

The link below takes you to the page for London => Brussels => Bruges.

Flying into Geneva from Manchester on the Monday and taking the rattler up to Bern. Looks like a lovely route. Most expensive flights of the lot unfortunately.

Looked at the EuroStar for Bruge, but it was saying 6:50 hours with the changes from St Pancras. Add in the 2 hours down to Euston and I could fly transatlantic quicker! Manchester have some good flights out to Brussels so doing that on the Tuesday.

We're going via Munich from Manchester for Leipzig and then getting an internal flight from there. About £244 a go on that one.

Nice is looking a lot cheaper. Just not sure whether to stay there and train it. Probably be a lot cheaper!

I stopped in Nice while Interrailing and got a train to Monaco and it was dead straightforward.

I was served in Macdonalds in Nice by one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen in my life, but that’s another story. Sigh…

Hi Seb. Is the station in Brussels that the Eurostar arrives into the same one for the train to Bruges?

Might have a couple of pints in Brussels on the Tuesday before heading to Bruges.

Eurostar comes into Brussels at Bruxelles Midi.

Trains from Brussels to Bruges depart from a few main train stations across Brussels as the mainline interconnecting track runs right through the city. These are Bruxelles-Nord (Brussels North), Bruxelles-Central (Brussels Central), and Bruxelles-Midi (Brussels South).

Montreux is a nice little stop off on the way to Berne for anyone flying into Geneva . Go to the lake front and see the Freddie Mercury statue . It's a nice spot.
