Seeding is not the same as rigging, and they had no choice due to the way European fixtures fall this season. Who do you think they have rigged the draw for?

It sounds like for us which seems weird for VillaTim to be moaning about.

Also nothing to do with the sponsors. It is the English Football League who administer the cup and set rules for it.

I can't remember which thread had someone state that although they realise the full importance of the CL for finances etc, they would rather win the League Cup and finish qualifying for the Europa League next season. Personally I want us in the CL for the next few years to bed ourselves in. Then cup wins will follow. There is a reason that the Cup hasn't been won outside of the top four teams much since the 2000's and that has been the money coming in meaning squads have grown enough to field stronger side across the board.

Get the win early on will be an Emery bonus though, but for the long term silverware, we need the CL continuation.

If all goes well this evening the dream QF draw would be:

Villa v Preston
Brentford v Newcastle
Southampton v Spurs
Leicester v Brighton

I think we'd all like to see the 'amfy derby'.
