We should be able to field a reasonably strong side.

Olsen
Ned Carlos Mings Maatsen
Kamara Barkley
Philogene Buendia Ramsay
Duran

Not Olsen anymore is it. Should be Gauci.

It will be Gauci.

I really think this game is as big for us in some ways as the Bruges game. We are likely to get top 24 in the CL now and possibly top 8 but being honest we are very unlikely to win it.

The Carabao cup still represents our best shot at a trophy and 28 years is far too long. Win this and we are 2 ties from Wembley, and with Man C115y not taking it seriously, there is every chance they will go out at Spurs.

Hope we can get 30k for this and put out a good side. No Bogarde/Swinkels etc... We really need to win a trophy and we have better players who need game time.

Olsen was back on the bench on Tuesday. Not sure if that remains he's regained his backup spot or if Gauci has picked up a knock or was being given extra time to recover from trips to Australia and Japan.

I would go

                  Gauchi

Ned     Konsa      Mings       Maatsen

            Kamara        Barclay

Philogene                                Ramsay

                     Buendia

                    The Chaos

With Palaces league form being dross i would imagine they will save a few as well

In his press conference today, Unai said getting into europe was his first objective and now is to get a trophy.

Realistically, the Champions League is a long shot but the Carabao Cup or the FA Cup is well within our squads grasp.

Any future injuries permitting, I reckon Unai really wants a cup this year.

Fingers crossed.

The annoying thing about the cup this year that if we do win, we will likely be joined in the QF by another 5 of the "big 8".

(With Chelsea and Man United drawn at home to the lowest rank teams to make the semis.)

Still, a great chance to progress and winning has become a habit.

I agree, short of actually winning something, he has now achieved just about everything he can with us.  Inside two years.  The next step is a trophy (of any description), then we target the league title and European dominance :-)

Isn't it just. That team would beat most Villa teams from the last decade or more.

When is the Carabao Cup draw?
The Carabao Cup quarter-final draw is confirmed to take place on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 after Tottenham’s game against Manchester City – which kicks off at 8.15pm GMT.

An estimated time for the draw is 10.30pm GMT, with Mark Chapman hosting and helped by Jamie Redknapp and Izzy Christiansen.

it would be unlike sponsors Carabao to rig the draw
