The League has been won by a CL team for each of the last 10 years. Just saying…….

What about the league cup?
🤦🏾 yes of course.

It's like the chess bead thing isn't it? As soon as they touch a lower league ball then bam! Vibrations. It's the only way.

2 years ago Chelsea were drawn away to Man City in their first game in both domestic cups. They lost both.

Now I know it may sound petty, well, it is I suppose but in the Twitter announcement they've changed the colour of the Wycombe badge to claret and white rather than their club colours. Just seems a bit disrespectful. Factor in the tunnel being grey, black and white now instead of our colours, someone in the design dept wants a boot up the hole.

Us and Spurs are a decent shout to be on TV as PL sides away to lower league sides. Walsall and Wimbledon are the others i'd choose. They'll probably choose boring games instead though.

I thought they were showing all cup games this season?

West Ham had a good crowd in last night for a drab cup draw v Bournemouth

They charged £10 a ticket and kids for a quid
I know people take the piss out of this sort of stuff but I think it’s a great way of filling the stadium and giving loads of people a chance to go

I'm not sure why anyone would take the piss, it's a fantastic initiative and a great way to encourage the next generation of fans.

2 years ago Chelsea were drawn away to Man City in their first game in both domestic cups. They lost both.

A complete outier. Chelsea's 3rd round draws in both domestic cups over the last 20 odd years have been absolutey ridiculous. They have drawn lower league teams at home practically every season.

I can only find up to 2019 right now but this is just mental:

06/07

3rd Round- Chelsea 6-1 Macclesfield (league 2)
4th round- Chelsea 3-0 Nottingham Forest (league 1)
5th round- Chelsea 4-0 Norwich (Championship)
6th round- Chelsea 3-3 Spurs (prem)

07/08

3rd- Chelsea 1-0 QPR (championship)
4th- Wigan 1-2 Chelsea (prem)
5th- Chelsea 3-1 Huddersfield (league one)
6th- Barnsley 1-0 Chelsea (championship)

08/09

3rd Chelsea 1-1 Southend (league one)
4th Chelsea 3-1 Ipswich (championship)
5th - Watford 1-3 Chelsea (championship)
6th Coventry 0-2 Chelsea (championship)

09/10

3rd Chelsea 5-0 Watford (championship)
4th PNE 0-2 Chelsea (championship)
5th Chelsea 4-1 Coventry (championship)
6th Chelsea 2-0 Stoke (prem)

10/11

3rd Chelsea 7-0 Ipswich (championship)
4th Everton 1-1 Chelsea (prem)

11/12

3rd Chelsea 4-0 Pompey (championship)
4th QPR 0-1 Chelsea (prem)
5th Chelsea 1-1 Birmingham (championship)
6th Chelsea 5-2 Leicester (championship)

12/13

3rd Saints 1-5 Chelsea (prem)
4th Brentford 2-2 Chelsea (league one)
5th Boro 0-2 Chelsea (championship)
6th Man. United 2-2 Chelsea (prem)

13/14

3rd Derby 0-2 Chelsea (championship)
4th Chelsea 1-0 Stoke (prem)
5th Man. City 2-0 Chelsea (prem)

14/15

3rd Chelsea 3-0 Watford (champ)
4th Chelsea 2-4 Bradford (league one)

15/16

3rd Chelsea 2-0 Scunthorpe (league one)
4th Milton Keynes 1-5 Chelsea 5 (champ)
5th Chelsea 5-1 Man. City (prem)
6th Everton 2-0 Chelsea (prem)

16/17

3rd- Chelsea 4-1 Posh (league one)
4th- Chelsea 4-0 Brentford (champ)
5th Wolves 0-2 Chelsea (champ)
6th Chelsea 1-0 Man. United (prem)

17/18

Norwich 0-0 chelsea (champ)
Chelsea 3-0 Newcastle (prem)
Chelsea 4-0 Hull (champ)
Leicester 1-2 (prem)

18/19

3rd- Chelsea 2-0 Forest (champ)
4th v Sheff Weds/Luton (champ/league one)
TBC.....

From all that it's played P 34 and they've been at home first match on 26 occasions. Of that they've played a premier league team on 7 occasions.

A quick look at their forum and they are saying it's about time they got an easy draw after drawing Man City 2 years ago. Apparently they are "owed" years of luck.

Tossers.

It only is, if it's different compared to other clubs. I imagine that if you laid out the data for any club that has been successful over the last twenty years there will probably be quite a lot of them beating lower league clubs and not many games against teams of a comparable size.

As for us, we'd probably have a much greater set of data to work from had we not got knocked out over the same time period that you quote by Burton Albion in round two, Middlesbrough in round three, Luton in round one, Leyton Orient in round two, Bolton in round three, QPR in round three...

etc.

and snacks and chance to go the shop , its a great idea.

that champions league team thing in the draw was very odd.  Giving them home fixtures.
