I fancy Orient away. Revenge for 2014 - actually, 10 years ago this week.
Didn't we stop them getting promoted in the 70s?

1973/74.  Vic Crowes final game in charge.
Last game of the season on a Friday night. Carlisle were 2nd and had finished all their games on the Saturday easily beating us 2-0 at Brunton Park.
30,000 were in Brisbane Road and Orient just needed to win and they would be promoted. Our season had petered out into mid table obscurity and there was nothing on the game at all for us.
Villa battled like their lives depended on it and came away with a 1-1 draw.

Not many Villa fans there. The next day I had a ticket to watch one of the most one sided Cup Finals ever, Liverpool 3 Newcastle 0.

Carlisle were promoted and were top of the league after 5 games but still finished up getting relegated.

An awful awful match, highlighted or lowlighted by totally pitiful 14 minutes from Richards.

That Orient LC game was one of the shittest i've ever been to. Me and my mate were virtually the only people in L2 and spent most of the game chatting about when we were younger as the game was so tedious. There was an element of relief when they scored the late winner as it meant we could go home rather than watch another half an hour of incompetence.

If I remember rightly we also lost 1-0 at Orient in 1974/75, one of the few defeats in the run in to promotion.

We don't deserve revenge.

One of my worst experiences supporting Villa was a night match down at Selhurst park in the league cup I think it was against Wimbledon bloody cold and horrible we played shit and lost

Can’t remember the year and can’t be bothered to google, in fairness even some of the details might be wrong as I’ve tried to expunge it from my mind

it was one of those games where you look around at the desperation of it all and think ‘why am I here’

Despite there being seedlings for none but the few I can almost guarantee you that Manure will be home to barrow which will be televised no matter what.  To leave us away to Chelsea Newcastle or Brighton.

I remember reading about this in the Daily Mirror the following morning.

They had a journalist sit in the stand at Brisbane Road with the Carlisle goalkeeper and his report described how the keeper was having kittens every time Orient attacked. I don’t remember too much else other than that he promised the reporter he was going to try to find Jim Cumbes to buy him a drink as apparently he was brilliant.

19922-93 was penalties in the fog. 1996-97 was played shit and lost.
