Big Jhon is going to be pretty special isn't he? He's exceptional at striking the ball cleanly and his eye for goal is superb. We have a player on our hands.

I love that both Watkins and Duran don't even need to play 90 mins to show what they can do!
Two high quality international strikers .
Special times at Villa!

The squad travel to Dubai for warm weather training after the Brentford game. The training camp will continue through the international break for those who aren't called up.

Do you mean after Brugge?

Hah! Good point. Put that down to starting to talk about the international break already.

Be interesting to see how many of the core squad of 23 get called up. Might only be 8:

Emi, Olsen, Digne, Konsa, Youri, SJM, Rogers, Watkins.

You don't think Rashford will get the call?

He's not really done enough yet to justify a recall, has he?

Are some players injured though? He might get a training squad call up, if not making the actual team.

Don't see why you wouldn't call up someone who is playing better and would be more use for the future - Gittens? Nwaneri?

I read earlier that Tuchel has made a long list of over 50 players that he's going to 'whittle' down to 25 (or whatever the squad size is).

It all depends on if Tuchel is bothered about bringing through youngsters if he is only here for another 16 months. If they're good enough, they're old enough, though, in my humble opinion.

Be surprised if Kamara isn't in. Deschamps likes him and he was in pretty regularly pre-injury.

They're fucking mental if he isn't tbh.
