I think it's a harsh penalty, but Cash is a bit out of position, a bit slow on the turn, and a bit flaily with his legs. Both things are true.

It’s a pen, Cash is so fucking clumsy in those situations. Good performance but we need a big second half.

Ollie looks a bit rusty.

His first touch for that chance he had at the end of the half was awful.

If it was a foul against us, we’d have been screaming for a pen.
Play like that second half, we should win this, which means we’ll be 3 points up from where I thought we’d be.

Generally a surprisingly great performance for first game of the season.

I haven't seen it but the example I always go back to is the one we didn't get against Brighton

A decent enough first half.  Dominated for the most part, other than a few minutes here and there.  Need to take our chances.

We should just ask to forfeit West Ham, Newcastle and Man. United away each season.

I'm sure this s*** happened two seasons back. We were 1-0 up and completely dominating and then they get a ridiculous penalty that should've been overturned.

Anyway rumours of our demise have been greatly exaggerated. That was a top class performance, just as good as anything we produced last season.

That penalty, I just despair. If it's a mistake, it's a mistake  surely? The fact it may have been an understandable mistake on the part of the referee should surely be irrelevant?

Ollie was never ever going to be match fit for this and it's showing unfortunately.

We played some lovely stuff until that pen.

More of that and we can win this.

Great stuff but the idea that VAR isn't looking to overturn decisions is the best yet. Fucking fuck off you fucking fuckers

Had Cash’s toe poke gone for a corner it would have been a non decision. A farce.
It didn't though. His toe stroked it and didn't dispose the player, followed by Cash taking him out. Anyone remember Milner being fouled against Blues? Similar incident.

If you get a foot on the ball you can take the man out, ie. every half decent sliding tackle ever. Just because it's clumsy doesn't make it a foul. If you win the ball first it's not a foul.

It's blatantly not a penalty. I'm surprised by the reaction in here tbh.

He’s got a point, and you’re repeating exactly the same mistake as the noses made after that game.

Cash's touch changed the direction of the ball and then he took the Spam player down, no penalty for me. If they give that, then they have to give the pen on McGinn too.

Other than the period right after the goal thought we were far the better team and should be well in front. I think we can still win, but the officials are providing a sterner challenge than WH.
