An hour and a half long, but a nice morning watch to get you into the mood

Isn't Emery's record vs Lopetegui really poor , but our Emery record in London is really good. Nailed on draw .

Think both teams are usually poor in the opening fixture of the season too.

I hope I’m wrong but today has the strong whiff of an opening day defeat. Not too worried though because we’ll beat Arsenal.

Martinez
Cash
Konsa
Pau
Digne
Onana
Tielemans
McGinn
Rogers
Bailey
Watkins
And I’m really in 2 minds whether to start Nedeljkovic but will hold back for the opener.

A cagey 1-1, we don’t usually do well there so I wouldn’t be too upset with that.

Ramsey will surely start? Bailey or Rogers for the spot up near Watkins, think Rogers will get the nod today.

Thanks for sharing Pete - Brings it all back. And as that other Villa video mentions.... those lows make the recent highs all the better!

Bailey has to start if fit.

Just read that Watkins may or may not start according to Emery. Maybe just a ploy to keep his cards close to his chest but, something doesn’t seem right.

Like a number of players who appeared in the later stages of international competitions he has been given a bit more time to recover.

I’m pretty confident this morning. Their pre season has not been great either and will take their new signings time to bed in (like ours).

0-2 and we are in great song going into our first home game next week.

Such records remain poor until the day, hopefully today, when we batter the kit-stealing buffoons all the way to the funeral parlour. Then we can simply say Unai's record against their manager is getting better and FTF!

It’s the fitness question that keeps Ramsey out at the moment for me. Ease him back gently. If he was 100% raring to go it would raise the question and I’d possibly have him in for Bailey then with Rogers more central.
