Will settle for the traditional loss first game if we manage the traditional win second game against Arsenal. Not confident with this one at all, no idea what our best team is.
Martinez
Konsa Carlos Pau Digne
Ramsey / Tielemens SJM Onana Rogers
Bailey Ollie
Ollie has has no pre season it wouldnt suprise me if he is on the bench tbh

Aren't we playing a behind doors "friendly" tomorrow?

Expect that Unai will play the starting XI and rotate the most likely subs in and out.

Everyone's gone mad with this 'ollies had no pre season nonsense'. He missed one game for which he was available, one game. Wasn't like he's been injured all summer is it, chill

Ollie was hardly used by Horseface for England and wasn't used to the players, only really having training with them to go on but hé came on and did the business in the semi. He'll be fine for us.

Very chilled. Thanks. Its not nonsense at all.

Pre season is a very aspect of a players journey to the start of the season for fitness and performance.  Its a very important aspect of player conditioning

The only thing that can disrupt Watkins rhythm is having kids, and given the effect it has you'd think he was the one that had to bear them.

I agree with Bronte that I'm glad he's had a longer time off. The Euros seemed to go on forever and the players don't feel like they've had a rest. Even ones like McGinn who went out early.

My point being that a large amount of players were all away at euros/americas for numerous teams and won't have had a real pre season, they'll be fine.

My view that it's nonsense about ollie is that he didn't play in one game that emi and ezri played in which isn't a huge deal.

He was away with England training and so I'm sure that all that info would have been considered by him and the villa staff in terms of conditioning.

I'd want to press them heavily with their playing out from the back. Bailey and Watkins, on last season, are two of the best attacking players in the League, so I'd have them up top. JJ is better than Rogers. It looks like I have JJ on the right, but I'd prefer him on the left.

I'd go with Rogers, but it's a toss up really. They might still need to be a bit careful with JJ, in any case.

I hope so corey. It does take a few games to get back in swing of things having a few pre season games certain helps with that aide of things.
