Watching him limping during the celebrations last night, I don't think we're likely to see him back any time soon.  Definitely not Burnley, hopefully not for liverpool anyway, so with twelve days to the final, I would guess he's unlikely.  I would be happy to see us play that 11 again though (as I'm sure most people would!)

Which might be another reason we now rest Lindelof.

UE has said Amadou is targeting the Europa final for his return from a calf injury. Fingers crossed he makes it. The midfield  is much stronger with him playing.

Dan Bardell said the noise he's heard is that Amadou will start on Wednesday night. If true, that's great news  especially as Barkley isn't in the squad.

His heading ability is going to be important on Wednesday.

His physicality in general, he adds pace and power to our midfield and makes it much harder for teams to get a foothold against us.

Absolutely. Does he start, though? Given that we should have enough about is without him.

If he's fit enough, definitely.

I'd start him, because, as I say, we have a better chance of owning hte midfield with him in there. We can swap him for Lindelof after an hour if he's not fully fit but getting on top early will help us a lot.

Amadou Onana trained yesterday and took part in an 11v11 session this afternoon. Unai Emery will decide whether he starts or if it is Victor Lindelof tomorrow. Elsewhere, John McGinn is determined to give #AVFC fans a "night to remember."
