If it's any comfort, it's a different injury to one that previously kept him out.

Tanswell said that when Emery was asked if Onana missing training meant he was definitely out tomorrow, he replied “absolutely not”. Which actually means he could be available despite missing training.

I’m clutching at straws, I know.

That’s a relief.

Sorry, Tanswell actually quoted Unai’s reply as “obviously not”. Same meaning though.

Tim has started 19 league games in nearly 2 seasons at a side much worse than us. Let's not turn him into something he's not.

How many has bogarde started and he can play more positions.  could have keep Barrenechea  too to be fair .

The Barren would’ve been an interesting option, from the (admittedly little) I seen of him.

Bit of a walking yellow card though, apparently.

And that’s playing in slower leagues than England.

Benfica are reported to be selling Barrenechea this summer. He's still there on loan (€3m loan fee and €12m buy option plus a 30% sell-on clause) so we could buy him back with a large discount. If Benfica were to ask the €12m we could have him back for  8,400,000€ - less than £7.5m

My bet is they'll be asking more than €12m but it will be a buyers' market knowing they want to sell.

wouldnt have a problem with him coming back , I suppose the league might be slower there but watching Barkley running through treacle on Sunday , he might not be any worse and much younger.

If he's not wanted by Benfica, he won't be good enough for us.

They’re reporting that Emery says he's out on SSN.

A cynical person might think he’s protecting himself ahead of the World Cup.

Difficult not to lose patience with this guy.

That person wouldn’t think that if they saw what happened in the game last week.

If you cannot get yourself pumped for a home semi final then you never will. He’s made of glass but I doubt he’d swerve this match.
