The only reason it sprang to mind is that I'm currently reading the Balagué book, and it says sometimes the communications on socials is guided by the management group when they want to set a tone. You're right, this wouldn't be one.

Has Unai ever mind gamed ?

Balague said Emery's spoken English is better than he portrays to the media.

If true, that's next level mind-gaming.  Imagine translating a question, answering it in your second language whilst deliberately inserting some grammatical errors to avoid being asked tough questions.

Would a hurt Luiz be a good selection anyway.  He might want to prove a point given his relative failure at Forest.

IIRC he said that Unai's English is far better than it appears but the reason Damian Vidagany sits in on press calls is chiefly to make sure he doesn't meander because he has a tendency to over explain.

That's the kind of thing geniuses do.

If true, that's next level mind-gaming.  Imagine translating a question, answering it in your second third or forth language whilst deliberately inserting some grammatical errors to avoid being asked tough questions.

I reckon Spanish and Basque are his first two languages with English probably third or fourth depending on his schooling.

Imagine dating him, fuck me, it'd be torture.

He rarely answers a question in any detail, it’s as though he has his script which he sticks to with a few generic answers, “very happy” “fantastic” “some chances”, “big challenges” and more or less for good measure. He’s pretty much a closed shop.

I think his comments yesterday were aimed at Onana and basically telling him to get on with it and be available.

I was hoping to learn more about the private life of Emery in the Balague book but not a thing. No Marriage, Break up, current romantic interests covered at all.

I know he is an established workaholic but he must be quite lonely and everyone needs some romantic involvement - dont they?

It did strike me that his life is a bit isolating, and I found myself thinking, "he might do a Klopp on us". But then I also read that he told the players he wants Aston Villa to be to the 2030s what City have been for the 2010-2020s.
