How he got muscle soreness from that Salzburg game beats all. Let's see if he gets through another 90+ mins on Wed. Onana, Luiz, Barkley, Bailey, Sancho - not exactly the most resilient crew we are relying on

You can always rely on The Athletic for an overly long winded statement of the obvious!

Maybe he's on statins?

One for the hypercholesterolemic, there.

As soon as I see something from The Athletic I just skip it. Every article is like bloody War and Peace.

Tough crowd.  Some threads on H&V “villa don’t get enough attention”, here “the articles are too long”.

Every time this thread gets bumped, I'm expecting injury news. If he tripped over the remote at home, he'd be rolling round on the floor for five minutes.

I thought the same when I read these posts yesterday.
It was definitely a head shaking moment for me.

It doesn’t really bother me that much whether Villa get attention or not, it feels like we tend to struggle when we have more eyes on us but I think it’s worth pointing out, on this occasion, that The Athletic have specific jouno’s assigned to clubs.

They’re not random pieces from the mainstream, they have to produce an article every so often and probably more in depth analysis is their USP. Their writing must be liked by a lot of people but I find the majority quite bloated and can’t be arsed to read 15 paragraphs to tell me Onana struggles to maintain fitness or Martinez wanted to move in the Summer.

Ha!
Started them about three months ago....stopped them because my other half was fed up of me saying "I think I've got flu, I ache all over". I didn't put two and two together, she did.
Apparently the nice doctor man/lady is going to phone me about it some time in March.

I susbscribe and often find myself thinking 'for fuck's sake, enough' when another notification hits.

Me too, it's the articles badged as Villa ones that are actually just a summary of what the league would look like if each team had lost their best player to injury, signed Messi and had trout for breakfast that piss me off. It's the desperation for relevance.

This isn't attention.  It's long form stating the obvious, word quota filling sludge that nobody, aside from some villa fans, will ever read.  I do admit that does probably make me a tough crowd though :D
