He's gone in the summer? Come on. He's nothing like Duran. Quite an overreaction. And even if he did, it would be on our terms.

We know they think it even if they don't say it. I don't know why we insist they have to pretend not to think it.

“Yes, I think one day I’ll make a transfer to a world-class club. That’s really a career goal. I’m 24 and I feel like I’ve matured. In the past few months, I’ve played my best football ever. Unai Emery helped me progress even further.”

“After my time at Everton, I was already in contact with top clubs. Ultimately, I chose Aston Villa because I thought it was the right move at the time.”

If that’s the quotes, they’re a bit Reo-Coker esque.

Exactly, does anybody think Morgan Rogers doesn't dream of eventually playing for Barca or Franco's White Shirts?

Don't be ridiculous. Some of them love us unconditionally and would die for my dirty old uncle Gavin; the rest are mercenary, polyglot scum.

I can understand wanting to play top level and international football.

But our lads are already there.

Come on Skipp, his remarks are unconscionable. Yet another reason why the UK shouldn't have abolished capital punishment.

I wonder who the lads on MOTD are going to sell him to? 😡😡

His last league performances demonstrated his potential to be key player for us but right now with everybody fit I wouldn't have him starting, both Youri and Bouba are a level above and Onana isn't, no matter what he thinks, a box to box player.

I think that in the weeks leading up to our injury misfortune, we were just discovering that our most powerful, potent line-up was with Onana and Kamara in the double pivot, and Youri at 10. So he'd get in my best 11.

Don't think his comments were disrespectful, though perhaps ill judged.

And of couse, he may well be right, in which case that will be £100m, please.

If he said it as it has been quoted then yes it's taking the piss.

Just keep your fucking mouth shut ffs.

Make up your own mind.

Quote

Ja, ik denk dat ik op een dag een transfer maak naar een club die wereldtop is. Dat is echt een carrièredoel. Ik ben 24 en voel dat

Looks pretty damning to me. I'm livid.
Think it was in French, and the source would seem to be here: https://www.dhnet.be/sports/football/diablesrouges/2026/01/30/titre-en-premier-league-blessures-mondial-chez-trump-amadou-onana-se-confie-je-jouerai-un-jour-dans-lun-des-cinq-plus-grands-clubs-du-monde-Q7JRLN5ICVEYNCKJANJWTJYLWA/

Or maybe a round robin interview? In any event, the questions were part of the launch of a fundraising for a Belgian start-up, Ifreq, for whom Onana is an ambassador and whose purpose is to help young kids get identified and... well, play for the best clubs in the world.

So, bit harsh to criticise him, I reckon.

Nah. I'd cancel his contract tomorrow.

I said IF what he said is true, it could be paper bs for all we know. I love the guy and defended him constantly when everyone was giving him pelters at the start.

So again IF he did say this verbatim Unai isn't going to stand for it, absolutely no chance. That's not me saying I want it to happen that's me saying our boss takes no shit and never has.

He legit said this?

This is quite possibly his ‘Bacuna’ moment
