Pretty ropey first ten minutes I thought.  Excellent thereafter.

I thought exactly the same, he got better and better the longer the game went on!

In the first 10 minutes Kamara was tracking Bernardo Silva and often flattening into the back four which left Onana exposed a bit.

Think it Watkins having a few words with him earlier in the game telling him the game started and he gave him the thumbs up

Yep.  He brings a different dimension to the team, as his athleticism and physicality means we win the ball back quicker more often.

Best game in a Villa shirt today.  Was fantastic defensively, worked really hard.  He has hit a level and needs to keep at it.

He was really good the second half of last season so it’s great to see him back in fine form today. Well done Onana

He deserves a lot of credit. Lots of blocks, anticipated passes, helped out further forward when he could and one thing I have criticised him for in the last year was the lack of use of his physicality . Pretty sure Haaland (of all people) would agree he met his match yesterday a few times.

Said before, when he sticks to the job at hand, plays with discipline, he's a cracking player. It's when he thinks he's Sid Cowans and can all places at once his weaknesses show. He needed that performance yesterday as Bogarde has been brilliant and can feel unfortunate not to have started.

He had a very good game, it’s just that I brick it every time it’s played to him in tight situations because sometimes his touch or awareness lets him down.
He made some critical interceptions and challenges yesterday.
His best game for us.

With the game seemingly tactically moving towards the more physical side, him finding his form consistently would be a massive advantage.

Some of his short passes can be too delayed and leave the teammate with little room to operate. File under 'Fine tuning'.
