Still yet to see him take a game by the scruff of its neck when we’re under the cosh. Appreciate the team struggled today but I never once thought he’d step up to the mark and change things. Not great for a supposed midfield linchpin we bought for £50m.

At times - as a box to box midfielder - he has given a passable impression of a footballer.

But as a DM or pretty much any time the game requires a bit of physicality - he looks way off.  Which is ridiculous, for the size of him.

Hard to believe he is the club record signing .  Overpaid by about £30m .

Spoke to an Everton fan when we signed him. He said that he likes to leave a foot in and will receive quite a few yellow cards and that he will have one good game then go missing for the next 6-7 games. Seems spot on.
