It's just a pity the crowd wasn't bigger. We never have been able to attract many for the junior sides.

Sounds like a challenge for Heck for the final.

I reckon we'll get 20,000 if it's on a sensible day.

Wonderful to watch these lads battle through against what looked like a 'bigger' side (physically and by reputation).

Thought the centre-backs both did well and Boreland got over his penalty miss and kept passing it. All praise to Proctor and many of the others who might go on to make it with us.

Brilliant, Proctor was fantastic in the shoot out. You could just hear the sadness in the commentators voices.
Oh definitely. Even at junior level the bias comes shining through. When they were lining up for the pens there was only one team going to win it apparently and it wasn't our boys.

Tickets last night cost £5, I doubt they will be any cheaper.  ;D

Delighted that the first penalty taker for Yanited failed.

During the game he conned the ref with a blatant dive to win a free kick on the edge of our "D" and then had a really smug look on his face. Reminded me of Ratboy's antics for their first team.

He wasn't smiling when Proctor pushed his pen onto the post. But I was.

And a hat trick in the first game of our relegation season in 86-87.

My first ever game at VP

I wonder what the GA+ offer will look like for the Final Mr Heck!

Well…as the game is generally televised I’m sure he will be trying to get a one off front of shirt sponsor for the academy side:-) if the Betano contract allows it that is

Just give priority for FA Cup final tickets (if required) to those that attend the Youth Cup final. It'd be a sell out.

Obviously first dibs to those who also attended the kids' semi-final. ;)

Aside from the obvious emphasis on the first team, there is less interest than there used to be in the youth team. In part, this may be due to an underlying feeling that few, if any, of those playing last night or in the final, will progress to play for the first team on a regular basis, which is a shame.

I thought one or two had excellent games. Borland (penalty aside), Rowe and Mulley; and of the subs Lynskey and McWilliams. Jimoh clearly has great ability but didn't get involved nearly enough - a bit of a Chukwuemeka performance. If any of them are going to make it in our first team they need to be featuring soon. It is much harder while we are doing so well. I love Jacob Ramsey, but would he have got his original opportunity in this team?

Great idea. Also, include their daughter who usually attends but was too tired on this occasion.

Clutching at straws, but one advantage of missing CL football might be having 15 odd games where we could develop one or two youngsters.
