I once saw a Wales-England Ruggerby League International at Wrexham, circa 2001.

The Villa Park Podcast does occasional episodes on the academy. The Lions Den they call them. Very informative.

Here’s the latest:

Ben Broggio scored for England. Under-18s I think.

Jaden and Iling-Junior started for the under-21s but both got subbed off after about 78 minutes.

Finished 0-0.

I like Broggio from what I've seen. What do the podcasters make of him, mate?

Most of them who discuss the academy are excited about him. He trains with the first team a lot apparently.

Aston Villa academy player Myles Sohna has retired from football aged 22 due to injuries. Two ACL injuries made him decide to leave football, here his statement. ⤵️

Didn't he have a brother that played for the club as well?

He did, thought he went to Sunderland or somewhere like that?

Harrison Sohna is his twin brother. He did indeed leave for Sunderland. Since joined Cheltenham and has played 8 league games for them so far this season.

I wonder if we'll recall Louie in Jan just to have a look at him

Good idea. If he doesn't impress we can then move for Patrick Bamford.
