A good article, I particularly agree with this:

I don’t want to know what amortisation means. I don’t want to care how many hospitality packages we’ve sold for Bournemouth at home. I don’t want to look at the squad photo for the new season and try to work out which of those players are saleable assets. When a youth player makes his debut, I don’t want my first thought to be “Oooh, we could get £8 million for him in the summer”.

It is very good though. We have more insight to how a football club is run these days. 40 years ago you might have known the name of our chairman but nobody else’s. Now we know not only the chairman/CEO the owners, the Opps manager, in fact every aspect of the club. It’s only right that we know about amortisation as much as we need to know who our pen taker is going to be.
