Doesn't this cause a problem for "we're waiting for the new kit to announce all the signings" theory?

Not really. I don't suppose Adidas would be that bothered about what is essentially another youth team signing. They might be more interested if we spend £35m on that Maatsen.

They're also probably not holding out for Ross Barkley to stand next to Messi and Salah in their next big TV ad, and his delay is where the theory originated.

This is the new training kit signing. We are going to keep announcing new signings as different bits of official tat become available. When we complete the Mbappé deal in January, it'll be to announce the new Adidas club pyjamas.

Mr. & Mrs. Buendia will be miffed if they're not chosen for that launch.

I think the idea was more that the new signings wouldn't have anything to stretch for the photo, so we had to wait for the kit to arrive to do that. I'm not sure anyone was really suggesting it was the real reason either, and definitely not that Adidas were waiting to do some big double reveal of the kit and the players.

Green?

Weird that they couldn't throw together a claret one for such purposes. Although maybe we're just having a completely different colour for training gear this season.

It's a nod to all the Irish Villans. Nice!

Or a worrying sign that the Saudis are coming for us next...

Anyway, most important thing about this picture is that it indicates that Unai is off relaxing and getting a break from this wretched sport.

I reckon Adidas had a warehouse full of green gear because Germany has ditched green as its change strip. I assume Germany has paid its apocryphal debt to Ireland.

I do wonder if this is a fattening of the calf move and he'll just get a couple of domestic cup games before being sold for a big fee to a promoted prem club next season or two.
There's an unbalance to the squad  as this preferred position is wing unless he's made into a striker.

Yep. I mean, the rules are bollocks, and we're doing what we have to do, but even so...

Well, to be fair, he's had an opportunity during pre-season to impress and make his case.
