I think 9m for Tim is pretty reasonable to be honest

Tim struggled to get a game in the league when we could barely field 11 fit players, he didn't even get a start at Palace. You act as though we've lost some super prospect rather than someone Unai clearly doesn't think is good enough.

You keep saying he didn't play much in the second half of the season for a crap Everton side, and I told you why. He was out injured for a while.

And I amended my position based on your updated information.

It didn't change my overall point though.

No, you think it's a shit deal, even though you know nothing about the lad. Which is an odd position to take.

I know how many minutes he played for a relegation scrapping Everton at the age of 21.

So I have questions about the deal.

Especially as we have sent Iroegbunam the other way.

But I will make you a bet, if he plays more than 300 minutes for Villa next season, then I will donate a tenner to the forum.

If he plays less than 300 minutes for Villa next season, then you donate a tenner instead?

And I would just like to add, Im not being negative for the sake of it.

I am very excited about the potential Maatsen & Iling-Junior transfers. Very excited.

But at times, I have questions or concerns about some of the things Villa do. And its always & only because I want the very best for Villa.

I feel uneasy about these too-early signing threads.

Too late now the horse has bolted.

My concern with this one isn't about his quality but more about where he fits. On that left side we have Rogers and JJ already who've both looked excellent there then we have Iling-Junior coming in and Buendia back fit who played there more often than anywhere else.

I just don't see how he fits even if Emery wants to use a couple of those in different roles it would still be tough to see him getting any gametime.

FFS, is he left-footed too? I want someone sexy from Villareal or Philogene back...hell, even Archer to be given a go, not this Danny Cadamarteri 25 years on, nag.

My concern with this one isn't about his quality but more about where he fits.

I forget the rules, but presumably there's nothing stopping us loaning him straight out?

Let's say, season long loan to Coventry where he pops up with ten goals and someone gives us £6m for him next summer? For the rumoured £3m fee that feels pretty low-risk?

I think it's only being allowed to play for three clubs in a year.

So he could go on loan...

With all these new threads with new players as well as the transfer thread. I’m getting rather lost with it all.

Have we actually signed anyone yet? Help!

We tend to have a new thread when it becomes clear that it's a real thing and worthy of separate discussion. So the various Juventus off-cuts, Maatsen and this lad are clearly different from "we should sign this bloke that I saw playing in the J-League once" type posts and "Football Insider says that Carlton Palmer was seen shopping at Coleshill Tesco" posts which obviously don't need their new thread.

Whether we sign them or not, it's better in their own thread. Otherwise the transfer thread is a tangle of Barkley, McKennie, Iling-Junior, Maatsen, Barrenechea, a couple of pun runs and various other bits of chit-chat besides.

Rest assured, if / when any of them are signed, that will be added to the thread title.

It’s certainly seems a very busy summer of transfer activity without anything really being confirmed. I’m sure Monchi and Emery know what they are doing, even with the very complicated rules regarding FFP.

It’s even harder to keep tabs when every potential signing is a complete unknown to me, we’ll all so far except the fat Weston-super-Mare fella.

I still reckon Dobbin is a made up name and the player doesn’t actually exist
I suppose he could play in that false 9 position

Feels a bit...pointless. We never play him and sell him at a loss but offset some of it, his main "contribution" being half the total assets in a swap by us and Everton which adds 9m to our revenue for the year-end 23/24. Even as a numbers-worker, this makes me sad.

How would selling him for £6m in 12 months after buying him for £3m this summer, equate to a loss?

The way it's going some of the losers from PSR will be the young players who are being shunted around like trading cards with little regard for their careers.
