He's 21 & couldn't get a game in the second half of last season at a relegation battling Everton.

But if this is us sticking our two fingers up to the Premier League & fucking over PSR, then good.

I just wish that we had sold them a dud in the same mould as Dobbin.

I know nothing about him, but that doesn't make him a dud.  Tim is not the future of Villa, Unai works with him everyday in training and I'll trust his judgement.

Look forward to him usurping a current incumbant inside about 4 months and then getting a mid to long term injury.

Go well young man.

Having an ankle injury is why he didn't play much.

He missed 9 game through injury across the whole season.

He played about 300 minutes over the course of the season in league & cups.

His most minutes came when he had 66 mins against Wolves at the start of the season & then he didn't play again for 9 games. He then played 5 mins across the next four games. Then after 45 minute cameo he had 38 mins across a ten game stretch, then missed 7 games through injury & had 21 mins over the last 3 games.

It looks to me across his season of stats is that he was given a few mins here & there, but whenever he had 45mins or more (which was three times), he then didn't play again for a while.

So apart from that period of 7 games near the end of the season, it wasn't injury why he didn't play loads of minutes.

Time will tell over both.

I just think Everton have come out of this deal in a lot stronger position than we have.

And I really hope that we have a decent buyback clause in our favour with Iroegbunam.

So they buy Tim for 」10m, next day we buy this geezer for 」10m but both spread the values of the 」10m over the contact?

So for PSR, if he was on a 5yr deal, we'd be up 」8m in the accounts?

If that's right, which it probably isn't, what a stupid rule. If it helps us out in the PSR regard then crack on, but from a footballing side seems a bit pointless unless Emery specifically wanted him rather than just picking someone to use to fudge the numbers.

I can see Tim playing for them more than this guy does for us.

And I amended my position based on your updated information.

It didn't change my overall point though.

No we haven't, not officially, although we seem to have agreed with Barkley but are waiting until July to announce, so his transfer fee comes out of the next years accounts.  I think.

No, you think it's a shit deal, even though you know nothing about the lad. Which is an odd position to take.

The Mods or the person starting the thread usually add 'Signed' once the i's are dotted and t's are crossed. From what I gather Tim and Dobbin are both undergoing medicals today.

My understanding was McKinnie was definitely going to stretch  the shirt.

We tend to have a new thread when it becomes clear that it's a real thing and worthy of separate discussion. So the various Juventus off-cuts, Maatsen and this lad are clearly different from "we should sign this bloke that I saw playing in the J-League once" type posts and "Football Insider says that Carlton Palmer was seen shopping at Coleshill Tesco" posts which obviously don't need their new thread.

Whether we sign them or not, it's better in their own thread. Otherwise the transfer thread is a tangle of Barkley, McKennie, Iling-Junior, Maatsen, Barrenechea, a couple of pun runs and various other bits of chit-chat besides.

Rest assured, if / when any of them are signed, that will be added to the thread title.

Apparently he's been getting pelters on social media from the Juve fans, all begging him to leave, some not quite as polite as they could be.

As for Dobbin, the Evertonians don't seem too happy with him leaving. We may have overpaid for him but then so did Everton with Tim.

I know how many minutes he played for a relegation scrapping Everton at the age of 21.

So I have questions about the deal.

Especially as we have sent Iroegbunam the other way.

But I will make you a bet, if he plays more than 300 minutes for Villa next season, then I will donate a tenner to the forum.

If he plays less than 300 minutes for Villa next season, then you donate a tenner instead?

And I would just like to add, Im not being negative for the sake of it.

I am very excited about the potential Maatsen & Iling-Junior transfers. Very excited.

But at times, I have questions or concerns about some of the things Villa do. And its always & only because I want the very best for Villa.
