I also think since 2018 the club is now doing things on and off the pitch on a scale that i certainly can't ever remember before, even when we've had decent teams. Commercially and on the football side of things I don't ever remember it being like this ever before.

Ah, that's good news.  I've missed being able to buy Villa tat in town since the New St shop closed.  Not a regular visitor, but it's easier to get to than the club shop (for me at least)

As the store is due to open in May 2025 - maybe the club will unveil next seasons shirt with the opening of the new club shop?

You would think so but wouldn't  suprise me if they push it back to july when you new kit is available to make a bog thing of it as cant see new kit being unveiled in may.

You imagine some villa players would be there to open it up

Have we ever released a new kit on time, let alone early?

The location of the one in Pavillions was pretty bleak. Like descending into Hades.

Well of course. Anything to do with them is beyond the wildest imaginings of Hieronymus Bosch.

If there is a ticket office facility there too, then that would be amazing.

My dad used to have a shop in Lichfield back in the very early 00s, selling football tat.  Idea was to sell stuff for all the local teams, although it turned out that Wolves (uncooperative) and Small Heath (a shambles) were impossible to deal with so didn't bother with those.  Walsall were surprisingly good, especially cos they'd never sold anything outside the club shop before at that point.  Albion were alright, bit small-time but nice enough to deal with.

Anyway, we got on well with the Villa rep.  He was saying that Villa back then had a system they were trialling to allow shops like my dad's to sell Villa tickets, with my dad's shop being one that was high up on the list to trial (as we sold a decent amount of stuff and paid the bills on time).  Unfortunately my dad's business went to the wall around 2001-ish so nothing came of it.  But I've often wondered what happened with that trial, cos it seemed a really good idea to me.

You can't move in China for club shops selling Blues merchandise.
