Mine arrived this morning, first Villa shirt I’ve bought in over 25 years and it’s really good. It’s claret and blue for a start.
Did you get the CL patch or just the basic shirt?

Basic - we don’t need no stinkin’ patches.
I've gone for the patch.  Fuck it, if you've got it flaunt it I reckon and we are Champions League.
I saved the extra £5, or whatever it is and will use it to buy a pint at VP at the Arse game. If they manage to serve any.

I am off on my holidays tomorrow - flying from East Mids airport, who have a JD Sports shop.

The holiday is for my 60th birthday on Sunday, I did not think i would say this but I am contemplating buying the shirt, but does it look okay to wear a football shirt if you are 60?

Harry Kane wore a football shirt and moved like he was over 60.

Took me a couple of watches before I realised Ozzy said "have you seen my Preds" as in Predator boots. First time I was wondering what the smeg he was saying.

Took me watching it in the queue with the sub titles on, the video on a regular repeat, at least 3 hours 🤣🤣

I was sure he was saying threads for the shirt he already had on.

While it's not a word that I've heard in years, as soon as Ozzy refers to his "preds", the next image is a zoom-in of an old lady at a bus stop wearing them so it seemed clear enough.

As for the other old geezer in the vid who isn't Geezer, at first I thought it was Dennis Mortimer.

I'm popping to the JD Sports nearest to me this weekend to buy my first shirt in over 20 years. (03/04 Diadora shirt that last one I bought). I think there will be quite a few like us investing for the first time in a long time.

I think it'll be my first since Acorns. But it'll be at the end of season sell-off.  Let's not get too carried away here.

I like the deep clarety claret. The blue could be a shade or two deeper for me, and the badge is what it is, but it's a commendable 7/10 for me.

Edit: Sid should definitely get it though

Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, if you want to show your support and wear the shirt then go for it!

One thing I did notice when I took the dog out in the new shirt this morning ( I was wearing the shirt, not the dog - he supports Steaua Bucharest) was that I was sweating like a Japanese prisoner of war when I got home. But a happy one.

I run a T-shirt store that literally sells just a few thousand items a year, not big numbers at all - and it took me about 10 minutes to add 'pre-orders' when we ran out of a best-seller that went a bit viral last year.  It's e-commerce 101. It feels like they're leaving a lot of money on the table, unless they literally don't know when they'll get more back in stock?

It's possible it's deliberate, so they can push the idea that Villa are so big they sold out all their jerseys in x amount of hours/days. Also creates demand and a bit of excitement when it is back in.

Or, because of the short lead in, and the deal with JD Sports, and in order to have it available everywhere at the same time, they are literally out of kits and don't know when they'll be back in. I know they could set up an order thing but if they have no time frame it's probably not in their best interests to do that.

Just had an email from the club seems as though the shirts are still available to order - sizes up to XL.
