Looks like it's going live on the Adidas store... except no adult shirts so far;

Just had a look at some of the other clubs great.  Looks like ours is a bit generic compared to other teams (probably due to the lateness of the deal), but I do hope we get something interesting next season like the Arsenal and Newcastle pre game tops (the Newcastle one with the feathers is excellent).

Predators didn't come out until late 80s/early 90s from memory. Boots probably still had nails in them when Ozzy were a lad.

1994, Craig Johnston the ex-Aussie Liverpool player came up with the concept and sold it to Adidas. I remember watching a documentary about him years ago, quite an interesting bloke.

I was at Aston Uni at the time, and played in the Uni side, and I distinctly remember one of the lads rocking up in a pair in my second year.  It felt like they were a 'cheat code' at the time, and would allow average players to bend the ball like a pro (they didn't) or make them score worldie goals (they didn't).

Thought so. When I was a kid, we were all amazed by 'blades'.

Then we hit 13-ish, were told we could actually tackle, and they became the boots for 'pussy' kids.

Those fancy Dans who thought they could waltz through with the ball, who had things easy; suddenly those of us who were on track or perhaps a little ahead of puberty were told to 'leave a mark'.

No more little twat called Harry or Toby who pissed about on the edge of the box with impunity. You could actually touch him.

I thought the 'blades' actually caused more damage to the legs in 'studs up' challenges.

Maybe they've set the women up their own store, away from the men's, where they would be be happier?

It is mad that the site doesn't say Sold Out and instead just takes the item off. It makes it look like we don't offer a women's shirt.

I value my personal hygiene too much to be a metal fan but that’s fucking class.

Well done Villa

I'm not a Sabbath fan particularly either, but honestly, it's a bit bonkers just how big they are worldwide.  Ozzy alone has literally TWICE as many followers on social media as Aston Villa.

Well, he is the Prince of Darkness... if anyone can do well in the hell pit of social media, it would be Satan himself.

God and Satan both involved with the Villa.

Mine arrived this morning, first Villa shirt I’ve bought in over 25 years and it’s really good. It’s claret and blue for a start.

Yep, taking pre-orders whilst making it clear they are currently out of stock would also make more sense.

Did you get the CL patch or just the basic shirt?

I run a T-shirt store that literally sells just a few thousand items a year, not big numbers at all - and it took me about 10 minutes to add 'pre-orders' when we ran out of a best-seller that went a bit viral last year.  It's e-commerce 101. It feels like they're leaving a lot of money on the table, unless they literally don't know when they'll get more back in stock?

Basic - we don’t need no stinkin’ patches.

I'm popping to the JD Sports nearest to me this weekend to buy my first shirt in over 20 years. (03/04 Diadora shirt that last one I bought). I think there will be quite a few like us investing for the first time in a long time.

I've gone for the patch.  Fuck it, if you've got it flaunt it I reckon and we are Champions League.

First top I've bought in years (other than the white Kappa Cazoo away which was on offer for about 15 quid), so the Adidas thing is clearly working it's magic.

As an aside, that Kappa shirt really is a thing of beauty.  They may have had some early quality issues, but that season I think they got a lot right.
