If you don't like butter, you're using the wrong butter.

Not taking culinary advice from the country that thinks bread sauce is acceptable.

You have my sympathies there, but it's not the whole country. It's just one weird city in the middle.

Indeed, aș an Aussie colleague of mine put it, "if I hadn't married an Irishman, I'd never have discovered Kerrygold." She knew.

I’m all for butter. But you don’t need it on a bacon sarnie.

In the days of getting bacon sarnies from vans at work, I never had to ask them not to put butter on. They were hard-working, right-minded, salt of the earth purveyors of fine bacon treats, and they knew their trade.

They didn’t have facilities to wash their hands, but their sarnies were of the highest standards.

The general rule of thumb to me is that the further you move from civilisation (ie Birmingham), the more you need to correct the staff on the folly of their ways.

Bread sauce with the turkey is the highlight of Christmas!

Bread sauce is grim. So are Yorkshire puddings. I'm going out now.

Butter is great. It just has no place on bacon or sausage sandwiches.

Turkey is overrated.

Quite possibly, but turkey hearts fried in butter are delicious.

Turkey is just dry chicken.

Only if you can't cook.

Deep fried turkey can be excellent. Otherwise it’s boring, dry and generally shit.

As the great Cunk said - bread sauce looks like jizz.

And there’s no coming back from that.
