That looks nice, I think it would be even nicer with a black and white badge.

That was my first thought too. Aside from the colours, it's also too large.

I think badge size on all shirts has increased.

it's inspired by the big french cocks of the euros.

On a separate note, the ball I ordered from adidas, that was to be delivered on Sunday, still hasn't arrived and I've had what can only be described as being like pulling teeth.

The Villa kit is currently showing as 'Out of Stock' and it can take up to 21 days to replenish........ But the person I was speaking to was very much 'Computer says 'noooo' type'.

Clearly it's just a generic Adidas sports top with our badges added.  It won't be great, so no surprise they're not selling them, but I'm also a bit stunned we don't have our new kit available by the time we start actually playing pre-season matches....

Yep, clearly they can't wear last season's kit and the new one isn't ready and they want to do a proper launch, so it's just "fuck, we just need something better than training wear for two matches".

So, the third preseason will be the one where they wear the new kit by the looks of it.

They've clearly just stuck that badge on it in any way they can, it won't look that shit on the actual kit.

I also agree with the not having the kit available thing, it's fucking annoying, it is always the same, year after year - we whine about not generating enough profit and selling the shirts without figuring, the sooner we make them available, the more we'll sell. Always so late.

I reckon the kit is ready...it must be by now.
They are saving the launch for the US tour.

As lucrative as the US market might be, personally i think the launch should be at home !!!!

However from a pure marketing/money-making perspective 99% of UK people that buy the kit will buy it anyway and won't be influenced by an unveiling, etc. In the US for a lot of people there won't be that same tribalism so maybe the launch there gets more casual sales and generates more money for us. It's cynical as fuck but it makes sense to me if we're trying to maximise revenue.

A black & White badge and it would be very Swansea City .
I like the claret and blue badge . The kit itself is your boil in the bag Adidas template.
It will be mate, it'll be from Adidas' standard stock as our actual kit isn't released yet and won't be available until after the Spartak Traktorfactory friendly.

As soon as they wear the kit you can get there'll be knock-off versions on dhgate within a day, so it's understandable they want to keep things under wraps until then

Don't agree. There's two months of birthdays they've missed out on, loads of people buy a shirt to wear on holiday and won't bother now they're back, too.

Tl;dr. Release the kits on time you twats.

The deal with Adidas was signed quite late in the standard kit design/manufacturing cylcle, so we were always going to struggle for an early launch.

Added to which, has the redevelopment of the club shop been completed?

Wouldn't surprise me if the kit launch/shop opening coincide.

It’s the same every year, fans waiting to hand over money but not being able to do so, any one believe the getting served at the ground problems will be solved?
No, nor me.

I don't disagree but my comment was about location not timing, that ship has already sailed this summer.

Didn't we do a reveal at New Street Station as a fashion show one year? Or did I dream it?

"Don't worry, the badge will look fine on the kit...."

Gulp.

Given the timescale it's not a big surprise that the kits are late and I'm guessing they will be pretty template for the same reason, but fuck me that temporary kit looks utterly shite with that badge.  My expectations are now massively lowered for the actual kit, and maybe I won't be buying my first shirt for a few years after all.

The new badge looks bloody awful on that albeit temporary top. There were people on here expressing their dislike of the badge who were told to stop getting so upset as its "only a badge" Looking at that top I think they had a point. We can only hope that next seasons kits look a whole lot better.
