You can never have too many pairs of shoes/trainers.

I ready somewhere (cant remember where) that the process with Adidas usually takes 18 months before the kit is released.  I suspect we got on board later than 18 months and that has had a knock on effect on manufacturing and retail.

I suspect it's just massive incompetence bearing in mind it happens every single year regardless of who is the kit manufacturer.

This is correct. I have a bit of a trainer buying problem. But at least I get to match them with my outfits.

I'd imagine training gear sales will be sky high with Adidas....imagine if they did a one off Samba/Gazelle type trainer in home colours to celebrate our 150 years...

Seen a guy on FB post a claret and blue gazelle trainer with I think it was a pic of Mortimer on the tongue. Don't know if he had it customised or was a sneak of something to come.

I am shocked, and a little saddened, by how many of you buy 'sportswear'.

Running in jeans and brogues is a bit uncomfortable and restricting though.

Fella from Stourbridge customises them. His name is Sole to Sole on instagram- not to my taste but he seems to get a lot of business

Would you prefer 'sports casual'?

There is a few others out there as well. One who customise the stripes for example.

I'd think if you were a marketing guy, you'd want them in the shops as soon as possible, alongside the other big teams' shirts.

I still don't see why it matters what other clubs have their jerseys out in shops? There's a market for Villa shirts in the UK and the vast majority of it isn't buying other club shirts if the Villa one isn't there. The marketing team would have very little work to do in regards selling shirts to Villa fans in the UK. Most people that would buy the shirt in May will buy it in July will buy it in August.

The US is an entirely new market for the club, and if they can coordinate a kit launch with the preseason tour then that's a marketing opportunity that could see a lot of shirts being sold that otherwise wouldn't.

I wouldn't imagine the goal was always to launch it this "late" but I'd assume they're making the most out of the delayed timeline.

It's a sport you can do if you're shit at anything that requires even the most basic eye/hand/foot coordination, like me.

Spot on I have 20 pairs of Adidas trainers and a few pairs of New Balance.
